OutRun 2006 Coast to Coast for PSP

EB Games reported that Sega will release Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast for PSP in US on March 1, 2006, the latest work of the popular Ferrari racing series.

Nice, but still not enough to make me get a PSP. What I really want is the oft-rumored Outrun 2 SP for the Xbox 360.

I dunno if this is true man...OUTRUN :COAST 2 COAST is apparently supposed to be OUTRUN 2:SP according to some but there's no way that the PsP could even handle a game that runs on arcade Xbox technology. I think this game may be a brand new title by Sumo Digital or possibly by Sega's new UK Racing Studio they set up nearly six months ago,since this game is obviously being released in the west before Japan.

The PsP are getting some nice games from Sega including INITIAL D:STREET STAGE.It would make a good companion peice.

I hope OUTRUN 2 SP will be a multiformat game since sega could do with the money. And it also makes them capable in taking on EA as a multiformat game publisher which makes everyone happy.

Gamespot reports that Sega may be planning a new OUTRUN title for all current systems. When EB games posted OUTRUN 2006:COAST 2 COAST for the psp ,gamespot looked into it more and found this....

The official story: Sega reps did not respond to requests for comment.

What we heard: It's been little more than a year since Sega released the last OutRun game, the Xbox-exclusive OutRun2. So when rumors began to spread about a new entry in the series coming to the PlayStation 2, PSP, and Xbox, Sony partisans took heart--and with good reason. The source of the rumor is three pages on EBgames.com (linked above). Though now blank, all three display "OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast" in their subject lines. GameSpot also got a screenshot of the PSP product page before it was pulled (pictured), which clearly shows the title.

Could the pages just be a data-entry error? Unlikely. Besides the fact that three separate product pages were created, the title looks a little too detailed to be a mistake. Then there's EBgames.com's long history of listing games before they are announced, including such high-profile games as the Xbox 360 Burnout and the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack. So if you're the bettin' sort, a double-sawbuck says that Sega will be getting its OutRun on handheld and consoles next year.

Make of it what you will. The game's title HAS been registered by Sega Of America,meaning that this title wil be coming to American shores. but what form it will arrive in remains to be seen. It's also a safe bet that the people reponsible for porting OUTRUN 2,Sumo Digital are behind this new version as well,since sega was impressed with their job on the previous game.

I don't know, but this doesn't really please me. They merge the original with the new one....for the PS2?

I'll stick with my Xbox original unless this has a ton of new stuff. The graphics hit on the PS2 may be reason enough to stay away, but I'm hoping Sumo Digital will prove me wrong.

Sega announced that the Ferrari racing game OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast is also coming to Xbox, along with the PS2 and PSP version simultaneously in March 2006 in Europe.

There's new pics of it in the latest Official Xbox mag. I looks freakin sweet. It'll sure be inteeresting to see what the PS2 and PSP versions end up looking like.
