I have a Nintendo DS and I love it. But there is one thing that annoys me. People associate Nintendo DS as being a system that either has little kid games and having worst graphics than PSP, but most people and the game media always ignore the fact that the Nintendo DS has an exceptionally large library of arcade/action titles, compared to other systems today.

Contra 4, Metal Slug 7, Bangai-O, Gunstar Super Heroes (actually on GBA, but I play it on my DS anyway), and many more. Even games that aren't even in the same genre have a similar feel, such as Castelvania games, Mega Man ZX games, Bleach, all have a distinct "action-game" feel to them.

Why can't Nintendo DS, be marketed with the action games (which it has like a billion) because I mean, look at all the PSP vs. DS videos, none of the best games are even mentioned or shown when comparing the two consoles.

Heck, E10 ESRB rating seems to be mostly used on DS games.

I think the PSP did a nice job of bringing handheld games more in line with something you'd get on a modern console (looking past the UMD nonsense, obviously). The DS was heavily marketed as a machine for non-gamers right from the beginning, so surprise surprise, people view it as a Brain Training machine.

I wouldn't worry about the DS as it's doing extremely well, and the fact that most of the good games make money shows that there are people out there who know what the system has to offer, as opposed to the PSP which performs extremely poorley in software sales.

I have a DS but canīt say I am very happy with it. The touchscreen is a gimmick too many games focus on.

I love the PSP and once I get the PC built and other debts paid off... I'm going to collect more activly for it. It does have some awesome games, but yeah... Software coming out right now is slim pickings and most of it's junk. But there's an awesome back library if you are willing to take the time and look for some games.

Look at Burnout, I think Legends is brilliant on the PSP. I never played it on DS, but after seeing a video of it... uh... NO. The PSP version looks awesome, I'd swear I was playing it on a console! Dominator isn't really as good, despite being based on Revenge, which was the fucking bomb. And why the hell are there six versions of the song Girlfriend?

The touch screen makes every single PSP first person shooter outdated and clunky. using the touch screen to control fps games is like using a mouse and keyboard, the PSP doesn't even have a rudimentary double analogue stick set-up, which in itself would still be massively inferior to mouse and keyboard/touch screen controls anyway, this alone means that the touch screen is not a gimick, not only is it a useful control method for FPS games but it also allows much more creativity when it come to game design Kirby-Power Painbrush, Elite Beat Agents and Meteos just off the top of my head are excellent original games only made possible due to the touch screen.

Actually I find FPS nearly unplayable with the touchscreen. Rail Shooters, yes, but games like Metroid or Call of Duty are a pain.

The problem is the unstable hold you have of your DS with only one hand.

You guys do know that I'm comparing the systems by the kind of gameplay styles on them, NOT graphic quality.

My point is Nintendo DS has a bigger library to arcade-like shoot'mup games than PSP. Where did the ancient "which version of the same multiplatform game has the best graphics" debate come from. Gee, just because I'm 17 doesn't mean I care about graphics.

I hold my DS with both hands and use the thumb strap, like most people who play MPH do.

No I'd rather play Burnout Paradise on the 360, as would most people i'd imagine.

Bangai-O on the other hand is DS exclusive.

Completely different game though, I've been wondering whether I should buy the first Bangai-O game for a while now, and whether I should get the DC of N64 version

I didn't like Contra 4 specifically because of the dual screen. It would have been a much better game had it been confined to one screen.

Actually, the PS3 version sold the best.

Actually, the PS3 version sold the best.really? According to everything I've read the 360 version outsold it by 30,000 - 40,000 copies, though I know how unreliable online sources can be :(.

Either way 360 or PS3, same game so I'll change it to "i'd imagine most people would rather play Burnout Paradise on the 360 or PS3"

Alright, let's stop it with this lame "sonic-chu" nonsense.

Yeah. I'm just going by Criterion's web site. There seems to be a 3:1 ratio of PS3 to Xbox360 owners of the game there.

Look closely at that "attached thumbnail" and compare it to David J.'s avatar. David J. and Sonichu are actually the same person.

108, I would ban you too if I could.
