All done when he used to work to Virgin and at the beginning of Shiny:

Global Gladiators
Cool Spot
Alladin
Jungle Book
Earthworm Jim

These games are very similar so it is easy to compare them.

Probably Earthworm Jim.

I hate the patented Dave Parry "Turn around and the screen snaps forward or backward to adjust" nonsense. It is aesthetically displeasing. It gives the games a very loosey-goosey yet jerky feel that I don't care for. It really sucks when your tapping left-right-left-right-left-right as you're trying to land a tricky jump or something, all with the screen going apeshit back and forth.

Earthworm Jim and Aladdin here

I also loved MDK, though thats neither Mega Drive nor a platformer, but nevertheless, it's a great game

Read about it in Sega Pro once, but never played the actual cart.

I wonder what went wrong with Dave >_>

My favourite is Earthworm Jim 2. Funny and varied game. The prequel is too annoying. Aladdin was quite okay I guess, but I got tired of it, especially the music. Global Gladiators isn't too fun, the controls are so floaty and the gameplay so repetitive.

Yes I did. It got very good ratings and was a hit, but to me the visual style was just so unappealing I did not play it for too long.

I was surprised how crap Global Gladiators is, really dull, and the fact its a Muckdonalds advert doesn't help matters. How it got such great reviews at the time I don't know, probably because the story is about saving the environment, which was the fad with kids in the early 90's.

Anyway Fave game would have to be Aladdin I think, with EarthWorm Jim 1 being a very close second.

Cool Spot just gets boring for me after a short time playing, never played MD Jungle Book - loved the SMS game as a kid though.

Aladdin. Maybe not the most fun or varied, but definitely the least frustrating.

I wonder what went wrong with Dave >_>

I remember when I attended the Enter the Matrix showcase in Norway, there was a "live feed" press conference with Dave. (It was taped of course, but very entertaining.) In this video he tells all his plans for the game, and how cool it will be. I got really worked up and though that this game was going to be off the hook, but when the time came around to actually play the beta level it felt shoddy and unnatural. I thought the game was ok at best, but the end was truly aweful, with no gameplay at all.

I think Dave had many good ideas, but ultimatly was stressed by Atari/Infogrames to push the release date on the game. After that it went downhill, but I've read an interview with Dave in the swedish game magazine Level (or was it SuperPlay? ) and he come off as a very smart and creative developer missing the older days of game development.

And to my favourite Perry games: Aladdin and Earthworm Jim 2. Also, I loved Wild 9 on the PlayStation, was I the only one? ;)

The lack of love for Cool Spot is disturbing.

1. Earthworm Jim
2. Cool Spot (fun, yet becoming dull towards the end of the game :/)
3. EWJ2 (I can't help but become frustrated eventually)
4. Aladdin

DNF: Global Gladiators :p

Earthworm Jim followed by Cool Spot. Best corporate mascot game ever.

There's another Dave Perry platformer to add to the list - The Terminator! (Although the only reason I know this is because I played through the game, and noticed it in the credits :) ) It's a nice game, albeit short.

Definately Global Gladiators...
However, it wasnt until about 5 years ago I played the Megadrive version as I grew up with an Amiga!
