View Full Version : How low can PS2 game prices go?
In EB there are PS2 games at cheap as $5, and still they have a sizable PS2 section. How low will they go? Prices eventually will rebound as they leave stores like EB and becoming more limited to retro game stores but what will be their low point? Will we see $1 PS2 games at EB like we did with Genesis and SNES games?

The prices will continue to fall as the console is pulled further back into the obscurity of history.

I find it funny that new releases on PS2 are far cheaper than the Wii versions, even though theres not exactly a world of difference between the two in technical terms to justify the amount.

When stores have to get rid of their inventory to make room for other stuff, they are willing to get rid of it at cost or even a small loss to do so. If we do see $1 PS2 games, it will be for a couple months while they get rid of their inventory, then prices will slowly rise up like all other retro games (really popular games ~$20, rare games $40-$60, fanboy bullshit RPGs 80 god damn dollars).

I was buying brand new £1 PS2 games like 4 or 5 years ago, its always had cheap games avaliable due to the sheer number of games that get made for it.

which is why its pretty much the best system ever. There are literally hundreds of retro games available for the PS2 (emulated, but whatever) not to mention a library of thousands of PS1 and PS2 games. As much as I love my Genesis (and NES, SNES, Game Gear, etc.), if I was told I could only play one system ever again, I would pick the PS2 and just suffer the inaccuracies of the Genesis Collection and the Sonic Mega Collection. The Mega Man collections are also pretty boss if I do say so myself.
