On a website I found a Sega CD system with the game Ground Zero Texas. I heard that is one of the best FMV games for the Sega CD. Why do people think this? Is this game as good as some think? I might like it because I like Lethal Enforcers and this game might be just as good.

I thought it sucked.

I remember thinking it was alright...

...but I used to really, really like Limp Bizkit. So don't take my word as gold.

Don't worry, I used to like Limp Bizkit too. In fact, I still have all of their albums.

Not that I listen to them, or anything.

I never understood the appeal of Limp Bizkit.

No, I take that back.

I never understood the appeal of Limp Bizkit from their second album onward. Their debut was alright at times.. gotta love that George Michael cover.

I am actually liking this game, which is a game that most people don't like. The plot is interesting and the acting is bad, which is part of the fun of these FMV games.

HELP!

I've been playing the hell out of GZT this past week and I finally completed all four camera setups in level four. It then switches to a video where you have to shoot the alien mothership. The woman tells you to take out its engines or something, but the game doesnt tell you where that is! I kept firing at the ship but then it fired back and I died instantly...and had to start over the entire level.

There are no faqs for this game or youtube vids for this part. Has anyone beaten and can help me out?

GZT is the best game by far of all FMV's on the Mega-CD.... it does more than flick between cameras you actually have to point and shoot at something!

Sewer Shark really wasn't too bad. Better acting and pretty good storyline video clips.

Corpse Killer also isn't that bad, and the bits with Julie are entertaining! Most other FMV games are almost unplayable in my experience. Ground Zero Texas at least is playable, fun and humorous.

Also, it should be pointed out that most FMV games were best experienced back in the day when they where more or less cutting edge and graphics video power really wasn't that great anywhere on any system. FMV was a new technology which, like it or hate it, was bringing something new and different to the world of gaming. It's fun to see some of the goofiness put forth by the actors in these games!

RIFT:

I'm trying to search around to get an answer for you. I haven't played Ground Zero Texas since the 90's and I remember beating it back then but I can't remember how. Let me know if you can grab a screenshot of the mothership. It might help jog my memory. I'll keep looking around for an answer for you.

I did it! I beat the game. For the mothership you basically have to move the target around until it turns red on a certain spot and then fire away.

The ending fmv is super short lol. For all the time I sat through the guy yelling at me when I died, I think I deserved a better ending!

Still, it was an enjoyable game. Level 1 is by far the best of it: lots of fmv clips, different things can happen depending on what you do, and frantic gameplay of switching back and forth between different cameras. The rest of the levels pale in comparison.

Inspired by this thread, I've been playing this on my GP2X Wiz lately. Haven't played it since 1993 but I have to say that for an FMV game it sure is addictive.

Was Limp Bizkit music in this game or something? I've never played but I hear a lot of Limp Bizkit talk.
