View Full Version : strategy guides
Here's another generic question. Do you guys (if you do use them) use the in-store ones, online, or both? I use a mixture of both, the first because I like having the books and their color/pictures, and the second because many games seem to have not had a guide made for them and are sometimes better.

I have both volumes of 3DO games secretes and it has helped me immensely. It also proved that if a game requires that one have a page by page reference to complete it, then it sucks.
Hell a Cyberpunk Adventure, I'm looking at you.

I use the official guides for my favorite games at second playthrough.
But only the European books by Piggyback; they are much better than the guides fom Brady Games or Prima. Less errors and an overall better look, better paper and all.
For les important games I frequent GameFAQs if I donīt know how to get on.

I have the Shenmue I Official guide which is pretty cool but I usually use the free GameFaq.com ones. Sometimes I will use UHS.com (Universal Hint System) or Gamewinners.com too.
I just used Gamewinners.com yesterday to get all the secret cars is RUSH 2049 for the DC. I just didnt have time to collect all those dam annoying coins.

I usually buy the official guide with most RPGs, but I didn't with Mass Effect because it was pretty linear.
I have over 75 guides dating back to the NES and Genesis.
I'd contacted Sega to get the official guide for Shining the Holy Ark and ended up paying $11 for a photo copied guide.:daze:
