Shogo:
Man, this was a GREAT FPS released a long time ago, the ending had a lot of loose ends. Now that Monolith is finshed with Condemmed, maybe they can work on this? :)
Powerslave:
The first one was amazing, and the second one sounded innovated and impressive, too bad it was shit-canned.
Air Bike Cop
Just because. ;)
Quake:
Yea, there up to four, but I want a sequel like the original one, nothing about space or what not.
What do you think?

A Shogo 2 would be righteous. Monolith have established themselves as a more prominent developer these days, so they've probably got some big plans for future projects.. hopefully a Shogo 2 will be one of them. Really a fun first-person shooter, that Shogo.. even the levels spent out of your Mobile Armor were awesome.
I'd love to see a sequel made to Future Tactics: The Uprising.. while Future Tactics was quite an unassuming multi-platform action/strategy release from last year, it was awesome, and really would benefit from a higher budget to lay on the polish.
Some sort of sequel to Elemental Gearbolt would rock.. at least a successor in game play style if not storyline. The world needs another incredibly atmospheric lightgun game with RPG stylings.
..and there bloody well better be another Mega Man Legends.

Earthbound
Nights
Jumping Flash!
Kirby's Dream Course
Sonic (I mean a next-gen 2D sequel to the true series)
Street Fighter (must be 2D)

^ Mother 2 would have satisfied the need for another Earthbound, but unfortunately it found itself in development hell. Can you imagine how awesome another Earthbound would be on Revolution? The game's quirky enough for any weird control innovations to fit right in.
Kirby's Dream Course.. quite a game. Two player mode on Mr. Shine, Mr. Bright makes for some of the most devilish competition ever. The Revolution controller could make for superb shot control.. even a DS sequel would be marvelous. Hell, ANY sequel would be rockin'.
..and Jumping Flash!, well holy shit. We can only hope.
Some more necessary sequels...
-A new Actraiser with both action and simulation stages.
-A new Naxat-styled fantasy pinball game.
-Another Firebrand-centered action/adventure ala Gargoyle's Quest/Demon's Crest.
-Bonk. Anything Bonk.

I second that Sonic should of gotten a true update. Sonic 4 on Genesis would of ruled. My dream way back then was always for a Sonic 4 that played just as well as they always did, was as long as Sonic & Knuckles when Sonic 3 is plugged in, and had the graphics of Donkey Kong country.
Now over ten years later, my dream still was never realised... oh well.
Battletoads
I would of loved to see Battletoads the arcade game come to Genesis to follow up the original and outdo the SNES Battlemaniacs.
Warsong
Had a sequel, but it should of been translated for us :(
X-Men
There was a sequel planned but it was scrapped when Sega went purse Saturn. I think they should of still finished it all the same anyway.
Splatterhouse
No not Splatterhouse 4, but I don't know why Sega fans never got the arcade original, that would of rocked have a Splatterhouse trilogy.
 Sega Saturn
Dragon Force
Had a sequel, but why the hell not release it here?
 Misc
And in keeping to the topic, a sequel I'd like to see in general on whatever format, Mutant League football. Just imagine what they could do with it now.

Jumping Flash did have a sequel. It came for PSX in 1996.

^ That is correct.
We're talking MORE Jumping Flash! in addition to what already exists. More is needed!

Oh heck yes! Could you imagine a ML football or hockey game with today's hardware? This series should never have died.
Oh, and welcome to the boards! :pop:

Well, if there is any game that needs a sequel it's
Streets of Rage, I mean I actually have the design for a game like that all planned out.

I think Sonic 4 on the Saturn would have ruled, they had problems getting a 3D sonic on Saturn (they tried) and the Saturn was could do 2D better then the NeoGeo and PSX so why did Sega not back then show off the Saturn 2D capablities with a new 2D Sonic and prove the NeoGeo CD days were over as the 2D king?

Thanks Melf, it's great to be a member. :)
A 2D Sonic 4 on Saturn, yes that would of rocked. Anyone who has played Astal, Rayman, or Gex will no doubt drool over the thought, as these three looked incredible, and honestly haven't really been topped by any other system even now.
A 2D Streets of Rage would rule, especially if it were of Guardian Heroes proportions. But I'm not saying a 3D Streets of Rage would be a bad thing... I just don't like the track record of 2D to 3D conversations to date... Bubsy and Earthworm Jim use to rule... but how many even remember them now? :(

Mother 3 (EarthBound sequel) is in development. It's coming out for GBA in 2006. It isn't a redo of the canned N64 game either; they started from scratch (though they're probably using a few ideas they had from EarthBound 64).
Bonk came out for Gamecube a couple years ago. It's pretty damn good, I hear.
Anyway, my list:
Vectorman - thank god that PS2 game was canned, but a proper Vectorman 3 would be great.
Sparkster - three games in two years, and then we never see him again. Come on, Konami!
Zombies Ate My Neighbors - It could be like Grabbed by the Ghoulies, without all the sucking!
Skeleton Krew - I don't know what Core Design is doing (if anything) ever since Tomb Raider was given to another team, but what they should do is go back and make sequels to some of their many classics.
Shadow of the Beast - Sony owns the rights to everything Psygnosis has ever done, and except for WipEout they're just sitting on it.
Keith Courage - the game that every Turbografx owner has, and it's a loner. There's a lot of potential for a good sequel.
Street Fighter - we don't need a new port, we don't need a retread, and we don't need an Alpha 4 or Third Strike 4. What we need is a completely new Street Fighter. I've heard rumblings of Street Fighter IV for Atomiswave, but nothing concrete.
NiGHTS - For god's sake Naka-san, you announced that there would be a NiGHTS 2 almost a year before NiGHTS was out. And now where is it? Bring back your little AiR NiGHTS project and put it on DS.
Bug! - the original 3D platformer had none of the baggage that most 3D platformers have. I'd love to see them go further with this.

^ I bet myself $5 going into this thread that you'd say something Shining Force related. Hot damn, I'm pathetic.

That Japanese-only Bonk release wasn't a sequel, but rather a stellar remake of Bonk's Adventure/PC Genjin. I really wish I owned it, for it looks to kick no less than five asses at once, which is no small feat.

Well I make it kind of obvious the way that it's like my exclusive series. But SF3 does need a sequel. With all the loose ends in it and StHA it needs a sequel badly.

Because WD got in a fight with Sega and stopped translating games on the Saturn and do you think SOA would translate the behemoth amount of text that is in that game? shit they screw up the name of lutz in a game 1% the size of DragonForce.
I want a REAL Lunar sequel god damn it... DS doesn't fucking count!
and you know what else I want a sequel for? FF yeah I want another FF! :P

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but didn't SOA do the translations for Shining Force 3, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Burning Rangers? All pretty big translations, and these were the last three first party Saturn releases in the US.

I agree with you about Lunar... but another FF? Most of the recent ones have sucked pretty hard. I still say SF3 *drools obsessively*

I really wanted Lunar Magic School to get translated.

The Sonic game they were working on for the Saturn was called Sonic Extreme and here's a link to an interview over at Sonic-CulT with the doomed game's producer Mike Wallace explaining the reason it folded if anyone's interested since a few people brought it up.
http://www.sonic-cult.org/dispart.php?catid=6&gameid=11&subid=2&artid=2.
You can basically chalk Sonic Extreme's folding up to Yuji Naka for not letting them use the NiGHTS engine though you have to admire him for wanting to protect his creation (which is why we haven't seen a sequel). Extreme sounds like it would've been sweet too. No use crying over spilt milk.
I too would like to see a new Vectorman and was dissapointed when it was cancelled.
Sparkster deserves another outing as well but I fear with all the other generic mascot characters of this generation that it's not going to happen.
I'd also like to see a sequel to Metal Arms, one of the best multiplatform sleeper hits of this generation.
I would've said Gunstar Heroes but that wish was already granted back in October

PACHUKA: Ah, okay. Let's see here, we've got some questions that random people sent in.. I'm trying to put them in some sort of order.. (Both laugh) So they make sense, otherwise I'm just jumping around... Uhm... ah, here we go. How long was the development cycle of Sonic Xtreme from like, the time they brought you onto the project to the time they actually canned it?
Mr. Wallis: With Sonic Xtreme, it was strange.. because at the time, Sega was looking to do a new system.. so Sonic Xtreme actually first started out as a 32X Game. And then, you know when that system came out and sort of tanked they switched it to... there was an intern system before the Saturn, it was Nvidia technology based... now, alot of people don't know this because it was just on the drawing board. But Sega had a partnership with Nvidia technologies for their very first RIVA, TNT Card.. Sega was going to make a cartridge based machine to compete with the N64 rather than a CD-ROM based machine. So we had some early techology and Xtreme basically went on THAT platform, it was going to be a launch title. And then Sega of America said "No, We're going to do a Saturn." Well, actually Sega of Japan came over and said "We're not doing that machine, we're doing the Saturn". It was weird because SOA would do their own thing and SOJ would do their own thing and then eventually SOJ would come in and say "No we're gonna do this" so Sega wasted alot of money and alot of resources on hardware development and software development for machines that eventually would never see the light of day.
PACHUKA: Lemme look it up here... (both laugh) I don't have the specific address, but it was Redwood City, right?
Mr. Wallis: Yeah, there were two buildings. One was 255 and one was 275, I think they locked us into the first floor of the 255 building, which was the old STI area and you know, they'd bring in breakfast, lunch and dinner and people would basically work like, 15-16 hour days. And it kind of sucked, because Bernie Stolar made us alot of promises that he couldn't deliver on. He was brand-new and he said, "Look, what do you guys need to do this by Christmas?" and we said "Well, we need the NiGHTS engine, because we can't develop the technology, it would take too long." ... so he said, "Alright! You got it." So, you know, they shipped us a NiGHTS editor, a level-based editor and our designers where familiarizing thereselves with that, and after about two-weeks, Yuji Naka who was the designer of NiGHTS, and one of the original SonicTeam, had said "No". There was a big rivalry between SOJ and SOA and Yuji Naka hated SOA..
PACHUKA: Yeah, I had a feeling.
Mr. Wallis: So he said he came to Yuri Maguire (sp?) who was the head of Sega, SOJ at the time, and he said "Look. I don't want these guys to have the NiGHTS engine. I do not want them to have the NiGHTS technology. If you give it to them, I quit." and so Yuri Maguire came back to Bernie Stolar and said, "I'm not giving you anything. You're gonna have to do it without it." So.. Bernie had to come to us "Sorry guys, you're gonna have to do it without the NiGHTS Technology." So at the time, Ofar Alon was developing this game; he was developing Xtreme on the PC... with the intent of porting it to the Saturn. He wrote these great development tools and everything, and it looked great on the PC. But the problem was so processor intensive that when it went to the Saturn, it was running at like, 2 frames a second. So independantly of that, Chris Coffin, who was the lead programmer for the Boss Levels -- you know, the boss levels were supposed to be like, these Arenas...
Can't imagine why the Saturn cratered with such a wonderful corporation behind it. Yeesh.

Heh, that does underscore the confusion, lack of focus, and stupid politics of Sega at the time, but it's really just the tip of the iceberg. Sega was so stupid it's ridiculous.

Far as i can tell a VECTOR MAN game is still active within Sega. I must also agree with your opinions on the NIGHTS and BUG! sequel.
With Sega activly recruiting local and international studios to create updates on several of their old games it's possible that a sequel to a long defunct title is very likely to happen.

Body Harvest. A great concept that couldn't be done justice on the N64.
Cool game...just soooo ugly.
