More Spider-Man X-Men bootlegs

A while ago I showed scans of a copy I have of Spider-Man X-Men. It appeared to be a pirate copy, the cover quality was not the very best and the sticker on the cartridge was different. Now there's two more of em:

Really weird... Where do these come from? I'm still looking for a real pal copy but all I seem to be finding are pirate copies.

They aren't pirates, all the PAL copies are like that. Indeed the insert print quality is pretty poor. It was manufactured by Acclaim, (flying edge was part of/another name for acclaim), look at the back of the cart, its an Acclaim made one.

108stars shows a scan of what the sticker on the legit cartridge looks like. The sticker on my version and on the two on eBay look different, the cover of my game looks cheap and the manual is stripped down to French only. I don't know if that's the case with these two as well, but the label on the cart is definitely the same as mine.

Sorry about opening a new topic, maybe these two can be merged?

Damn! I just checked my copy, and it's also one of those "pirate" copies with a thin french manual and a Black & White english appendix. Man, that sucks! :(

I guess I should have noticed it earlier, but when I got it I fired it up for ten seconds, thought: "Wow! That game is crap!" and then put it on the shelf for good. If it's a pirate copy, it's definitely a strange one.

It wont be a pirate. There were just two print runs of the game, one done on the cheap by Acclaim.

It's not a pirate, it's the French release. Most games made by Acclaim have Acclaim cases too (has Acclaim moulded into the plastic behind the cart holder), which helps spot pirates.

Hey guys, thanks for clearing up that it's the French version, I had no idea such a version existed. I thought it was a pirate copy because of what was said in the other topic I mentioned. So... anyone know where I can get the European version?

Germany is a good place to start, failing that try the UK but expect to pay more.

They have 2 copies, the other one costs 1 Euro more but is in a little better condition.

BTW, it is "Buy it now or make an offer", so maybe you can lower the price a bit.

Now someone get me to Revenge of the Joker complete for little money!!! :D
