If you live in an area where there's snow on the ground, and your car is all wheel drive or four wheel drive, or if it has some form of traction control, please use it!

DISCLAMER: I will admit, there are some times they won't work, like in a blizzard, but that hasn't happened here yet. Even a FWD car like mine will have trouble.

Someone my mom works with her car was banged up pretty bad, as I saw it on a tow truck on the way to school. It was really wrecked. Thankfully, she wasn't harmed _at all_. A family friend has a simular car, and he's not using his traction control and stability control, and he's saying the car is junk. And for those cars, the traction control and stability has been proven! And their cars do have it.

Don't get me started on the people w/ plows on their trucks that only drive in 2WD, and it's obivous because the wheels lock and and they skid, and then I see someone else pull out of the parking lot at the same speed and he's fine.

Get a brush and wipe the snow off your lights, I can't tell if your turning or not.

And finally, drive slow. As much as I'd love to rev my V6 up, I sadly can't.

I totally agree

I no longer live in New England, but I used to when I was younger and I learned to drive up there IN THE WINTER (Got my permit in November).

I had an upperhand on learning to drive as I had already been driving pickups and tractors in the fields during winter and summer (grew up on a farm).

Anyways, it drives me insane how the people would drive!

Only thing is though, the snow covering their blinkers probably doesn't matter as the majority of them don't even use them anyway! Heh!

Be happy your not in Florida. We may not have snow, but we have some retarded freaking drivers (maybe not as bad as CA or Atlanta, but I consider it to be the third worst part of the country for drivers... I drove tractor trailer and have seen the abilities of just about every city in the nation except Hawaii and Alaska).

Here in FL people are so freaking dumb that they roll their vehicles on strait aways. Literally!

Seriousily, in South Florida the roads are all preplanned grids. The only turns you make are when you turn onto a new road. Every road is strait. I have driven down I-95 and seen I can't count how many accidents of retards flipping their cars going strait.

Ok, maybe it was changing lanes.. but still!

And what about out in the acreage where I've seen cars do it on 1 lane road!? I don't know, but this state is really really dumb.

What would you expect from a state that hides their libraries. Their are 2 main West Palm Beach libraries.

1 is hidden behind a line of trees with a dunken donuts in front of that. You can not see it from the road and it is in an area surrounded by strip bars, clubs, liqour stores and other non educational stuff. The only sign stating where it is, is a tiny green road sign right at the entrance to dunkin donuts...

the other is downtown! Yep, Clematis street as it is known here. It is a strip of bars and clubs. That is all. The building is at the end of the street with a big fountain in front and they have big shows there all the time. Alcohol included. The building itself is void of any symbols stating that it is a library and I have asked people directions to it and they didn't even know that it existed right there. When in front of it I've been asked by people what it is...

my God!

Now it's spring and it's just awful again.

I love driving in the snow. You just have to leave LOTS of space between you and other cars, especially if you have anti-lock brakes or whatever they are called now. They sound/feel like a jackhammer when you are on ice and they don't stop as well as real brakes in older cars.

Now it's the spring and there are idiots abound.

I saw a coworker's econobox got banged up on the way home from college toda, why he bought it in the first place was odd, and another coworkers new car has been in two accidents (one with her lover who had no license), why she bought that too is beyond me. Bitches about repairs then bitches about payments.

Who would pay $300 a month for five-six years for a car with no power windows, locks, cruise control, and slow as shit? Economy my ass.

I had to get a temp. handicaped stickertoday for my mom and on mny way there, two gay guys stopped at a street where there is no stop sign but people stop anyway. Her I was pumpin' my horn and they just sat there. There's no fuckin' stop sign, and everyone is looking at me odd. But when I'm near the doctor some guy is yelling at me while I am driving, like I give two shits what you think, pay attention to the road!

College towns are notorious for terrible driving. Everyone's still at that "I'm invincible and I'll be as wreckless as I want and I'm always in a hurry," mindset. I hate driving near my college because everyone acts like they're stunt drivers from a movie.

I totally agree with you there. The problem with so called "economy" cars is they end up burning more gas trying to get up a hill than a more powerful vehicle because the engine has to work harder anyway which makes the whole idea rather pointless. If you drive a six cylinder or a more powerful four responsibly then you should be able to save more gas than an "economy" car travelling the same distance.
