Which do you prefer?

What style of Genesis game cases do you prefer, The original black boxes, or the later red ones? I'm all about the black grid myself. It was a nice throwback to the Master System cases.

Black is fine too. But the blue one looks so pure.

However, a lot of games gave ugly barcodes &/or logos. These usualy looks boring and malplaced on the back. I prefer games that only have the title and the Sega Mega Drive mark.

I HATE RED USA CARTS !!!!!!
i hate them ! ugly like hell ;-)
i have a few only US releases like Shadowrun etc but in my collection the luke ugly !

PAL Electronic Arts Covers are very bad too ! (yellow)

i prefer European black, European Blue and all japanese titles cause they are so nice coloured

hmm they are oke,I couldnt hate the packages because they were the only one that where handy and innovative by the time.I still agree the covers are ugly but hey its genesis and thats a great console so fucking what it isnt about the package at all but about whats inside.the bleu prints are the bomb i agree and the black ones are normal,BTW snes had red all over the place,talking about covers+that ones were even paper made those covers were shit,You put em away they going to fuck upp tehir colecters valeu,The md packages dont fuck up colectors valeu or something like that.

Black boxes, silver-white grids look great, especially when faded ever so slightly. They look like what leather smells slike =P. Plus, when you put Master System boxes alongside them (white boxes, black grid, for the uneducated - a sly move by Sega), they look better. The blue design also looks great on a shelf, plus the 'border' design really shows off the cover art. I'm not really a fan of the Genesis logo, though, it's all angular and metally. Minus a few points for the American boxarts for that =D

The Japanese covers are fantastic - they're colourful, and the cover art takes up all the front of the box. And I love some of the art used, especially for the Comix Zone, Phantasy Star and Sonic games. It's all colourful and hyper and woo.

None of the cases really bother me just as long as it's not a freakin' PAPER box. I do not like the European "Mega Drive" logo (though the blue boxes are much better than their earlier efforts). It looks like a really bad ripoff of the US Genesis logo. It is very ugly and the Genesis logo wasn't spectacular to begin with. But then the red boxes came out, they got rid of the logo and just typed "GENESIS" in Copperplate Gothic Bold and called it a day. The Japanese Mega Drive logo kicks ass!

I like the original black gridlines boxes..I really think sega should have kept those all through the genisis's life instead of switching to that really ugly red style. I also like the blue design used for the european megadrive games. the japanese cases that have the cover art taking up the whole box are pretty awesome too, I mean all the jap games have really good cover art.

This is a harder question.
I liked the black case and the red case american.
In Brazil, Tec Toy, the Sega´s representant in country copied the American black and red cases in the Brazilian games for Mega Drive.

In my internet´s navigation i found the European blue cases and i liked the cases the games Mega Man: The Willy Wars and Probotector.
But in my internet researchs i found the European black cases. Released in the Mega Drive´s life begining.

The art of Japanese cases are very cool for exemple: The Phantasy Star series for Mega Drive, Bare Knuckle series ( name of the Streets of Rage in Japan ), Sonic series, EL Viento and Valis III.

Okay, i decided:
I like the red cases.
And i had two games with red case: Beavis and Butt Head and Robocop vs The Terminator.
