I bought a mint copy locally for $12.99 and had the intention to review it. First thoughts are that this is one of the most horrid games I've played on any console period. Does anyone here actually have any nice things to say or is this game truly as bad as I think it is?

I don't know, I couldn't get past the initial minutes either.
I have a good number of live-action FMV games on Sega CD/32XCD now -- Fahrenheit (CD/32XCD), Supreme Warrior (32XCD), Double Switch (CD), Tomcat Alley (CD), Midnight Raiders (CD)... and that's not counting SCD-games-with-live-action-video that aren't full-on FMV games like Loadstar or Bram Stoker's Dracula... and yeah, I don't like them at all. Aside from maybe Loadstar (which is just impossibly hard to navigate), all of those games are absolutely terrible. Why buy them, then? I don't know... they were there, they're Sega CD games, if I have the system I really should have some... I don't know which one is worst, though... maybe Midnight Raiders, that game's just abysmally bad. It is funny, though. Great awful acting, bad rail-shooter gameplay, a way-too-high difficulty level (get hit once in the second segment and it's game over, start again from the beginning!)... everything you expect from these games. :)
Oh, despite owning it for like six months now, I haven't gotten around to actually playing any of Double Switch yet... don't know if I want to. :)
Anyway, Supreme Warrior... other than the usual awful acting and incredibly high difficulty level, the game's just impossible to play. It seems like it would take quite a while to just get good enough to not lose badly every time... it's a really hard game. I think I quit in annoyance in the first fight, though... you probably get used to it with time. Doesn't make it anything above awful, though.
... I know some people like these live-action video FMV games, I just can't quite see why myself, aside from the often amusing bad acting. :)

I guess your right about Supreme Warrior, it seems like you have to be a masochist for bad games to like FMV overall.
It's funny you mentioned Midnight Raiders, that's another trash heap of a game and possible the worst FMV game on the Sega CD. I tried to like Loadstar and the videos are decent too but the levels are impossibly hard to navigate and are far too long and boring, the stupid smiley face is also pretty annoying in that game too.

I've got this game for the 3Do and it's so bad that I like it. If you play the game long enough you will learn how to fight and protect yourself from enemies, but belive me, it's so bad you don't even want to know how to beat this game. But I still think that it's not the worst game ever (I've beaten E.T. for the Atari 2600 too and played worse games then that).
So if you just want to have the game (Supreme Warrior) becuse you would like to show it for your friends and laugh at it with them, buy it! Otherwise, don't buy it.

nissling, I already bought it and am going to write a review for it soon. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any redeeming quality that the game may have had hidden deep in its bowels.

You're not missing anything other than the video is pretty good for the 32X. Other than that, you have a couple nice coasters for your beer.

that just reminded me of an idea I had for CD/DVD sports games: coasters. "no no no! wait! here, put Madden 99 down first, there you go."

You cant derail a thread in one post N00B!
Vintagegamecrazy, I think you would have more fun shoving shards of glass up your ass and sitting in a tubfull of tabasco than playing Supreme Warrior.

I hear that if you hang CD's in your garden, the shiny sides of the discs will scare birds away.

I bought a mint copy locally for $12.99 <snip>
I bought mine for one dollar at Best Buy. Mine was also sealed and had been thrown desperately into a discount bin, awaiting some fool (i.e., myself) to come along and buy it. Even though it was just a buck, I still think I paid way too much for it. It is, without question, the worst game I have ever played. It is 100% unplayable.
And it's really too bad, because I actually wanted to see more of the bad acting, but I couldn't get past any of the fighters!
My copy of the game is now in the possession of James Rolfe, a.k.a. The Angry Video Game Nerd. He hasn't reviewed it yet, but it pops up in his opening montage from time to time. He pretty much agreed with me that the game is confoundedly impossible to play.
I sent in the warranty card with some rather sarcastic feedback on it. I kept a photocopy of it. Where it asks what I thought of the game, I wrote, "You need to be punished." I don't know if Digital Pictures was still around when I had sent that card, but it must have gone somewhere, because it didn't come back!

This game is so bad that the face side would scare them away.

I remember reading a review in ... i think it was GAMER... where they rated games from 1 to 6 (1 for the absolute best, 6 for the worst of the worst).
If I recall correctly, the game got an incredible 5- - review; worst I've ever seen in this generally Sega-friendly magazine...
