Patching a rom isn't too hard.

I didn't really like the game. Controls weren't that good.
I just suck at techy stuff.
Anyone want to email it to me patched? I'd really like to play this.

Arrrrggg.. the red screen of sorrow.
While the rom seems properly patched, I can't get it to work on either Kega or Gens.
Melf, want to try out the patched rom anyway?

An IPS patchs isn't too hard to do. There's programs where you just load the ips and then patch the rom
I got it to work fine. o_0 Patching and playing in Kega Fusion 3.4.

There's nothing wrong with your ROM if you get a red screen. Just enable checksum fixing in the emulator.
Ok, I just suck at this.
Could someone list the steps to patch this thing?

Good lord, you're right. Thanks!
Alright, well, the easiest way to patch this rom is just to download and use the program available on that King Colossus page, KC_Patcher.zip. Make sure the patch itself is in the same folder as the patching program. If you have a King Colossus rom, for simplicities sake you can put it in the same folder as the unzipped contents of KC_Patcher.zip, and run 'patchkc.' Otherwise, just run patchkc and go a-browsin' through your files to find the rom. A window appears asking you to 'Load King Colossus ROM file,' so do so. The window is replaced by another, and the next step is to name the newly-patched file (king_colossus.bin works for pure ease) and save it somewhere, probably in the same folder as your Genesis roms.
Possible problems could be that the rom you're trying to patch is not recognized by the patching program. Unzipped, the rom I got to work with the patcher was precisely 1.00 MB and was named King Colossus (J).bin. Two others I tried didn't do the trick. ..or there could be the evil red screen that was vanquished by GeckoYamori's wisdom.
..or, Melf, I can just mail you the patched rom.
That latter would rock Drixxel. Saves me some noobie headaches. :)

That's how easy patching a rom is really.
See, that little gem of a program makes everything SO much easier!
Thanks!

And it be sent. It's a 1 MB attachment.

Arg, wait a minute.. it seems you've already mastered the patchery.
Well, in that case, ignore that e-mail.
