View Full Version : Sega-16 Early Spring Cleaning/Maintainance
I've been going back through all the reviews to eliminate any text garbage that got carried over when we moved to the data base, and I've also been linking each review to its corresponding forum thread. When none exists, I create one, which is why there have been so many new threads in the review forum. When I'm finished with reviews, features are next.
Currently done:
- All Genesis reviews
- All 32X reviews
- All Sega CD reviews
- Features: All but six done
Please let me know here if you find any articles with text garbage or incorrect/no forum links.

They stretch outside of the white border on my screen, it may only be on my laptop so maybe you're not seeing it, however, it is the only review that does that. The rest display properly.
Ah, I see. It didn't show up in Firefox. Timewarpgamer's URL was what made it all wonky. I eliminated that and it's fine now.

All Genesis and 32X reviews now have their respective forum threads, and all links in them have been fixed.
Sega CD reviews are currently done through the letter "Q."

The thread about the NFL's greatest game was dead as of last night.
How so?
I've gone through all games for each system and linked them to their forums threads, but for some reason I come up seven games short. If anyone finds any games that don't have a forum link, please let me know ASAP.
Now, on to the features!

Melf, once your done with this, can we work on getting the master lists updated? There's probably at least a dozen and maybe more taiwan and Chinese exclusive games missing, I already have several catalogued on my end and if you want we can get them all implemented into the master lists.
I really want to add those Chinese games in, so we'll get to that as soon as I finish adding the forum thread links to the features that are missing them. CMA Death Adder's input would be greatly appreciated for that too!

Well, looks like I've found all of them, and ironically, they didn't have threads because they weren't our articles in the first place.

Melf, the author's name is spelled wrong for the Sega CD Cliffhanger review also the genre should be changed to Beat-'Em-Up instead of Action. Sorry to be facetious. :D

In the same article (Dashin' Desperadoes), there's an escape character in the window title.
Actually, there seems to be some sort of problem with many (all?) of the articles that have ampersands, apostrophes, or other funky characters in the game name. Ampersand titles get cut off, apostrophes get turned into \', and so on. The problem's most obvious when you click on a link from the review indexes, but it seems like the real issue is that the underlying PHP isn't properly URL-encoding/decoding arbitrary strings it receives as part of the URL (which is how the window title seems to be generated). For instance:
