So this summer, I've decided I'm going to spend a lot of time going to garage sales and looking for games. Last summer, I did it only once in a while; my best find was a CIB copy of gunstar heroes and both toejam and earls (cart only) for a buck each.

For those of you that do this, for about how many garage sales do you go to before you find something worthwhile?

Charity Shops are more or less my only source here in Ireland.

Found these in the past few months:

Final Fantasy 7 (Boxed - missing manual) .50c
Final Fantasy 7 Platinum (Boxed - missing manual) €1
Myst PC .50c
Lion King Megadrive (CIB) €1
Final Fantasy 8 (CIB) €3.50
Final Fantasy 9 (CIB) €3.50

Usually takes me a lot of foraging around to find something interesting. But I love going cause you dunno what you may find.

I miss garage sale days! My family use to do it near every weekend in the summer, but the last few years in waned for other things, but I want to do it SO bad. Seriously. Even if we find nothing it's driving around from about 8AM till 4-5 in the afternoon. It's a bloody scavenger hunt and I love it.

And I find some nice shit sometimes too.

I've only ever ocme across 2 yard sales with anything good. One had an Odyssey 2 with 10 games and the voice unit, in box, for $10. I think I played it for a combined total of 15 minutes then ended up selling the entire thing off for $25.

2nd I found an Atari Lynx model 2 with a couple games and AC adaptor for $10. But I had to buy a replacement "screen" lens online as it had a nasty gouge in it. Ended up selling it for about double what I paid though.

Otherwise it's overpriced PS2 games.
