what are the best 32x games? is this thing worth getting? I was reading about Blackthorne and it sounds pretty killer, graphics look quite detailed.

I'd recommend:

- Blackthorne: It plays and looks great.
- Kolibri: Awesome off-the-wall shmup with some great visuals.
- Tempo: Quirky little platformer.
- Shadow Squadron: Cool shmup.
- Star Wars Arcade: Great version of the arcade game.
- Knuckles Chaotix: It's no Sonic, but is quite fun.
- Virtua Racing: Awesome conversion of the arcade game.

Blackthorne and Chaotix are easily the best. Space Harrier is fun too!

is it better to get the Sega CD or the 32X? I heard you can have enhanced Sega CD games if the Sega CD is hooked up with the 32X ?

Sega CD has a much larger library than the 32X, but you could probably find a 32X for only a few bucks.

For 32X I recommend:

-Space Harrier
-After Burner (it really is After Burner II)
-Knuckles' Chaotix
-Blackthorn
-Virtua Racing
-Virtua Fighter

Then there are some which are decent but not necessarily recommendable. I have Kolibri but I find that game almost unplayable. WTF am I supposed to do? The only thing to do in that game is DIE again and again.

That's true Vorty. I forgot to add Space Harrier and Afterburner, which are easily two of the best versions of each game.

The only games that use both the Sega CD and 32X are a handful of full-motion video titles that aren't worth the trouble. Between the CD and 32X, I'd definitely go with the Sega CD. There are about four times as many games. However, the 32X can be had very cheaply, so there really isn't any reason not to get both.

correction: the American 32X can be found very cheaply. European 32Xes - well, I've never ever seen one 'in the wild', and there are never really that many on eBay. =/

Also, Knuckles' Chaotix owns your heart and soul and will bike up to your house and dropkick you in the neck.

Not exactly must haves, but NBA Jam T.E., Wrestlemania the Arcade Game, and World Series Baseball are all good fun. They don't exactly use the full power of the system, but are still good games.

Did Wrestlemania come in the plastic box? Which 32X games came in a plastic box besides NBA JAM TE and NFL Quarterback Club?

Wrestlemania came in a plastic case in the US. Not sure about any other regions, though. I think WWF Raw came in a plastic case. I don't own it, so I'm not entirely sure.

Yeah, they are ports Ary, but if you can find them, they're still good games.

NBA Jam TE is personally my favorite version of Jam which is why I'm happy it's one of the few 32X games that's got a plastic case.

I've actually been considering picking up Blackthorne
for the 32x, however it's pretty tough to find complete.
That said, is there a marked improvement from the SNES
version, or would you say that they are pretty much the same
in terms of the graphics/levels/audio?

There's a marked improvement, but the improvements are purely audio-visual.
