I am a big fan of the site and have voiced my opinion on stuff related to games and just anything else that I found interesting. Today I had a fire that destroyed everything I own including my entire game collection and dvd collection. I just wanted to thank the community for being open arms with me and that I probabaly won' be able to frequent the site as often as I have. I definitly won't be able to continue my video reviews. Hopefully someday I could reestablish myself and get back to doing reviews.

Now that is some seriously crap news Jason! .... I am speechless!
I hope you have insurance and all that to help towards replacing everything! That sucks!
Damn, I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you get back on your feet soon.

Man, I seriously hope he could be throwing some kind of joke....
Anyway, that's probably the saddest news I've ever had on a fellow collector.
I don't know what else to say, dude.

Dang dude. I'm glad you're alright, hopefully no one else was hurt... but shit that sucks. You had an impressive collection and I hope you can restore it someday. That's a bummer.

I'm very sorry to hear that, I pray that you'll be able to recollect as much of your collection as possible.
At least you made it out quite alright.

Wow. :(
And you just posed a new review video yesterday...
How much damage was there elsewhere, the whole house totalled?

You're alive. Material things can be replaced, so there's always that.
Besides, whenever you lose a collection, there's always the potential to make it better the next time around. ;)
Glad you're safe, at least.

Hang in there bro, my neighbor was murdered and the apartment floor was torched a couple months back. Not a fun experience, but I now have a new Genesis and Sega CD with about 10 games and the good times are back. Just gotta keep rolling.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Did you get the Genesis and Sega CD from him though?

It happens but is never fun. I had a scare yesterday when I was at work. My wife called me to tell me that the apartment building next to mine caught fire in the laundry room and several rooms were smoke damaged and many tenants had to evacuate until the apartment is refurbished. Thank goodness it wasn't mine.
I feel for you man, hopefully you can get back into it and start collecting again.
I'd be pulling my hair out when something such happened in my room...... I do not want to think about it.....
Anyway, best of luck for you, hopefully you get compensation(s) of any kind to make things slightly more tolerable

Damn dude that really sucks. I hope insurance will be generous. I guess its best to take the money and run... you know use it on something new!
This is my biggest fear. Well fire, theft ect and I loose all my consoles and old computers!

Yeah, that's a good recommendation. You could always download films and games you'd like to play. I know it's not the same, but anyway.
...I can't believe you lost everything. There must be something that survived the flames.

as far as i could see all case and inserts are ruined and most of the games are just smoke damaged. truth be told i don't know where i stand with insurance. i won't be keeping any of the games or movies. i will most likly part everything out and try to reestablish my collection at another time. so if anyone is interested in a stinky copy of a game i might just get rid of it. i am so disgusted i feel like saying f it all and let them tear the house down with everything inside. its more tramatic to me to sit there and individually go through every game and movie i have owned. i love this community.

Can you give us a list of the games you're getting rid of?

I'm sure he's got more important things to do right now than that.

Hm, if you really want to get rid of everything as soon as possible, maybe just sort your stuff by system and sell it at ebay as it is. You might not get much for it, but at least something.

:( That so sucks. I can't even imagine how that must feel. I also think you might be able to get some of your money back by selling the surviving cart or disc only games on Ebay, or just selling as is stuff.
Just out of curiosity, do they know what caused it?

In that case he might as well put it in storage for a few months to see if he changes his mind. He can always sell later.
