Looks nice, ill prolly never buy it though, I dont play 16-bit RPGs anymore. But maybe for the collection.
btw:
"Sigh... once again American gamers get the shaft. So what else is new?"I really hope this is a remark only applicable to 16-bit gaming days. The contemporary EU market is sadly ignored by most develpoers. Hardly 75% of all games released makes it to Europe.

As you can tell from my avatar, I love this game to death. Thorne is such a tool, but you can't deny the "USA! USA! GO JOE!" charm he has.
So you docked the game 1 point each for graphics and AI? I think the graphics have a certain charm to them. They certainly aren't the best on the system, but they do a good job of conveying characters and environments. I know after playing a while you can learn how the AI will respond and manipulate it to your advantage, but what can you expect from a 16-bit strategy game? The Shining Force games had exploitable AI too.

Huh... seems sort of simliar to Nintendo's Wars franchise but in an medieval setting and with RPG elements.

I just picked up Warsong over Thanksgiving whilst visiting the in-laws. I haven't had a ton of time to spend with it, but despite the graphical simplicity it definitely seems to be a fun game with a lot of play value. It will probably be one of those games that will never leave my collection. :D

It certainly looks like another gem that I missed.

I just picked this up on Ebay. I heard great things about it and am
looking forward to playing this. Let me tell you, it was not easy to
find complete and in great shape, but patience was the order of the day
and I finally got my hands on one. I don't even remember this game when
genesis was in it's hey day, funny how many games I have recently been
turned onto via the net. very kewl indeed.

This was a very good game. Shining Force style pre Shining Force (or Fire Emblem style post Fire Emblem) but the general/troops mechanic made it unique. I imported Langrisser V for my Saturn and it's also very good, though I haven't gotten too far due to the language barrier. It's a shame someone like Working Designs never brought over 2 through 5 of the series.

Here's an English script for Langrisser V. I'm not sure how good it is.

I got this game out of a bargain bin back a long time ago! I loved the game! Played it to death. But alas I traded it in for a newer shinnier game and system and forgot about it till I found Der Langrisser on the SNES once i started visiting the emu scene years ago. Now I can say proudly that I own the whole Langrisser(warsong) cannon complete...in japanese however but still complete. These games were the main reason I bought a Saturn as well as Panzer Dragoon Saga which I also own. And to think Warsong goes for what $30 complete on ebay right now? That might be higher, not sure, but I purchased it for $9.95 in like 1991 or close to that year.
