Best video pinball game ever made. So addictive they should have named it 'Devil's Crack'. The Mega Drive version also kicks the PC Engine version's ass. Tengen kind of butchered the U.S. version, but all the game play is still there. It's kind of funny that the five pointed stars they replaced the spinning six pointed ones with actually look more satanic IMO. Still, either version is definitely something everyone should have in their collection.

I agree that the game is rather addictive, enough to be called Devil's Crack :P
if I have all my other most wanted games, I will look into getting that game.

I'll have to check this out. I'm a big fan of pinball games, so if there's a good one for Genesis, I'd be quite happy.

I actually prefer the PCE version. It sounds better and the table uses the whole screen.

This series started on the TG16 with Alien Crush (one of my favorites from that system.) I agree, each of these games is extremely addictive. I love the bonus rounds and just the atmosphere it creates.

Another sequel to this series released on Super Famicom was Jaki Crush.

This one is probably the best... shame it didn't come to the Genny.

This game rocks! I love the satanic theme and the music. I have the Japanese version simply because I hate censorship. Censorship belongs to Nazi Germany, one of the worst regimes ever !!!

Hey, I never knew about that one. I'll have to check it out. Also, I always thought Devil's Crash came before Alien Crush.

@Mordan: It's all about how you hit the ball with the flippers. Depending on where the flipper hits it and the direction and speed the ball is moving determines the angle of it's trajectory. With practice you can learn to control the direction the ball moves.

Did someone mention Dragon's Revenge? (discretely reaches for baseball bat)

I don't understand this war between the PC-Engine and the Genesis versions of Devil Crush.

I mean its a dam pinball game. Who gives a crap. I'm sure they are both good.

I quite often play Dragon`s Fury when I`m sitting around bored, I find it very addictive, even if I`m not that good at it!:)

Yeah, this is a good game.
But I still prefer Crüe Ball as the best 16-bit pinball game. :)

One game I really wish had been ported to Genesis was Pinball Dreams, the amazing Amiga pinball game. The Genesis totally could have handled it, so it really is a shame that it never made the transition.

Has anyone ever made the skull that laughs at you explode? It seems like I did it once. My ball got caught between it and the tower and hammered the crap out of it, if I remember right.

I would love to make that laughing skull explode... constantly mocking me everytime my ball goes through my flippers!

I've been a fan of this game since I ordered it straight from Tengen back in the day. The music, the graphics, the physics, the fact that there's an ending you can reach if you so desire... it's a great pinball game with a nice demonic touch. Sure, the US version got censored a bit, but much of it remained the same, and the gameplay itself stayed intact. It was also a cool touch to add several hidden remixes from TecnoSoft's other games.

I still need to get a copy of Devil Crash MD, just so I can have all the stuff Tengen didn't want me to be tempted by. But Dragon's Fury as it stands is still a wonderful game of pinball, and a nice visual and aural improvement over the original TG-16 game.

Actually, the game took a little bit of graphical hit in the normal play area in the port to MD.

True, but the higher contrast appeals to me more than the subdued colors of the TG-16 version.

What about the way the graphics were redrawn?

What about the way the graphics were redrawn?

That's a mixed bag. The bonus stages look worlds better on the Genesis, while the main tri-level stage has its ups and downs. Some of the additions or changes (like the redrawn dragon and skull, the funky skull bumpers on the bottom third of the main stage, etc.) don't look as nice on the Genesis, but other changes (the woman's face, the added animation to the skull, the extra effects on the ball launcher, the upper third of the main stage, etc.) look better on the Genesis. To me at least.

Am i the only person in the world who loves Dragons Revenge? I got complete examples of Dragons fury / Revenge, and i like them both. But Revenge tickles me in a way that Fury does not. Revenge has a bigger board on Megadrive, is faster. Looks a lot nicer than the MD version of Fury. The monsters are more detailed. The ball is a crazy thing that acts more like a rubber powerball than a pinball. It has random magnets under the table.
(Oh the ball isnt realistic)
What you mean is that you are not fast enougth to hit it. besides when do pinball tables have little monsters running around on them? Realism??
(Oh its not a true thematic sequal)
They are pinball tables...
(Oh theres a pointless dead zone at the top of the table)
Theres 2 reosens to get in there and nudge for glory, and its easy to advoid going in there...
(Oh it kills me randomley)
Arcade pinball machines from the 70's were desighned to make you pump cash in. They were often difficult to maintain due to having moving magnets under the table. Occasionly on Revenge You will get a slew of balls seemingley sucked into the dead zones. What do you think causes this....

I think the problem in the way Revenge is viewed is that the skills you built up playing Fury are pretty useless as the ball behaves totally different. But it is a much malighned classic IMO. Yes the music is horrible - turn it off if it bothers you. Yes you will be doing well then you will hit a bad cycle and lose loads of lives. Thats what the password feature is for, save whenever you get ahead. Yes it is difficult - Arcade difficult. What is wrong with that?

My pinball games on megadrive

lol..
Crueball
Dragons fury
Dragons revenge

Which cart still gets slotted in from time to time... Dragons revenge. Will i still play it when i get a cart of psycho pinball? Hell yeah! do i play it all night? Nope. But then 1 game for me will last a couple of hours on avarage as i am trying to beat it without passwords. Do i hate it? Yes! But i also love it. Its Pinball for masochists and sometimes i need it to whip me!

(Pinball of the dead on GBA is also sweet)

If I might chime in with a late response...

(Oh the ball isnt realistic)

Yes, realism. When a metal ball hits an object, it's going to react off of that object. In "Revenge", the ball will stop dead upon hitting the flipper with alarming regularity. It'll hit the end of the flipper, stop dead in its tracks, and drop straight down between the flippers... also, with alarming regularity. Dragon's Fury, while not perfect, does a much better physics job than Dragon's Revenge.

And for the record, I've beaten the game quite a few times, so I have no problems hitting the ball when it's not glitching on the physics.

Ok, am calm, first post was the anger in defending a game i really like, hell people on here get defensive over collumns, lol, but - idk I like the way the revenge ball acts like a rubber powerball rather than a metal pinball. God its mental.

I like both Dragon's pinball games. I prefer the original, Dragon's Fury, a little more because the bonus pinball rooms are a little more exciting. Hard games, but very addicting. Recently for the hell of it I checked for some cheat codes but not much available it seems for those games - no big deal.
