What are people's thoughts on this game? Is it worth $10?
Heck yes! For the quest mode alone. RPG elements with the classic Gauntlet gameplay. The password can be a pain, but it's a great addition that none of the other versions of Gauntlet have, IIRC.
You must enter and pass four towers, each with a boss. There's a little town (more like a market) where you buy potions and keys, but otherwise everything is very Gauntlet-like.

It just looks like the gameplay would be really, really, really repetitive. But it doesn't get boring?
It sure sounds nice, though.
Even with the quest, it's still Gauntlet. If that type of game bores you, then this won't really change that. If you're a fan though (like me), then this is a refreshing change to some classic gameplay.

Ah, Gauntlet... I've loved this series for a long time. You know, the gameplay IS pretty repetitive, but somehow I don't mind - especially when playing multiplayer, which is an awesome experience.

Ever played it with all 4 people?
I had a quad-tap at one point, but it didn't work. >.>

I've played it in the arcade with all four people on several different versions of Gauntlet, including the original, Gauntlet II, and Gauntlet Legends.

Oh come on, Gauntlet IV (lol IV) I think is one of the finest incarnations of Gauntlet ever. The music is most certainly the best amongst all the Gauntlets I've played. It has a cool RPG mode, and can be hella fun with the Sega 4-way tap. It was worth the $40 I paid new back in the day, so yea trade your stinkin $10 for it

Chill out, man! It's cool!
Alrighty, I guess I'm going after it, and I apologize for not being enthusiastic enough in the first place!

I like it, i'm not a huge Gauntlet fan but I find that the genesis version is quite a bit better than the arcade and nes game. I'd say it's worth the 10 bucks.
