I have built one to test how 2x Nomads would work eith each other... there's not much needed to build another.

Just build your own. I made mine out of a 3 button I picked up at a pawn shop for $1 & a Radio Shack connector for $1

So for $2 bucks & 2 min. of my time one Zero Tolerance link cable.

never heard of Zero Tolerance?? It's a great one, must-have. I made my own link cable with two controllers and a black box. Great stuff.

No, 2 linked consoles hooked up to seperate TV's (or monitors) for either co-op or vs (not sure about the latter), it's a FPS game using scaling (raycasting, like Wolfenstein), it's really pushing the Genny already, so no split screen multipayer.

Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2OsH4ZuAlI

I think one of only 3 FPS's on the Genesis, along with Battle Frenzy, and "Duke Nukem 3D" (all raycasting sype games, the latter only released in Brazil... in 1998)

Also here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBrgDiTd3HE), my own video. Yes, I am bragging.

There's also Corporation/Cyber-Cop, but it's pretty crappy compared to the others.

I also made my own link cable, made it from a broken Joypad
and an extension cable that wasn't in too good a quality on one side. (which i ofcourse cut off)

Works like a charm.

Forgot about that one, interesting to not it actually used rendered polygons rather than the scaling (reycasting) style, not that that was a wise thing to do in these circumstances. However, unlike the other 3 this one wasn't a Genesis/Mega Drive original, originally released for the PC, Atari ST, and Amiga.

This got me thinking, why hasn't there ever been a Midi Maze release for the Genesis using a link cable? I suppose it would have to be renamed, maybe PlayerPort2 Maze? Seems extremely workable. It worked on the Atari ST computers very well.

Never heard of it personally. Had to look it up on wikipedia.

However, I did find an open source version of it called iMaze.

I don't know if that would work on a stock Genny - need to look at the code first.

Well, can anybody point us to documentation on how to make the cable, or explain the procedure?

I'd like to setup a vs. mode at my store. I think people would go nuts for that!

There's a picture on the page showing how the cable is made. It's fairly self-explanatory, but look at the picture, then ask if you have more questions. I'm sure one of us here could answer any further questions you have about it.

And yes, having a set of SEGAs linked together probably would be cool. :D

Tototek, maker of the very well-received Megacart, has the Zero Tolerance link cable on sale for $15 USD shipped (note that I have no personal experience with this company):

Midi Maze was released on several consoles under the name "Faceball 2000" these would include the SNES, and even the GameBoy. (cut down and rather choppy, but relatively improsive given the limitations)

I have faceball 2000 for the SNES, not too impressed by it. It stays though, as homage to the ST version. Just hoping for a Genesis version out there somewhere.

Come to think of it, I need to rebuild my link cable. Hmm...
