Looks like Sonic's being lubed up again by Sega ready for some more bum love.

Sonic needs a car to be in a race obviously it makes things more fair all round ;)

Why have the "Sonic &" when the tennis game didn't have it? Did anyone expect Sonic to NOT be in a Sega All-Star game?

Why have the "Sonic &" when the tennis game didn't have it? Did anyone expect Sonic to NOT be in a Sega All-Star game?
It's just SEGA milking the Cash Cow again by putting his widely recognized name in the title and dragging it through the mud some more;)

This game seems kind of Diddy Kong Racing style, given the unique vehicles, at least judging by the trailer (they could of course just reseble other vehicles, but all act as karts in the game itsself, which would be lame). This idea looks cool, at least on paper, and was executed well in DKR, so I'm a bit hopeful.
It's kind of interesting that when I was bouncing a few ideas around in the Sonic Kart thread I started, the DKR unique vehicles idea was one I suggested. :p (though technically, Street Racer used this idea too to some extent, but only as far as special moves)

Listeners of the Jim Rome Show (such as myself) know of a word called "Bohica" which stands for "Bend Over, Here It Comes Again", which applies here for Sonic.
I don't think it looks as goofy as SSTennis did, but I certainly won't be buying this game.

The controls aren't that bad, you just have to use a lot of L and R drift, something most people don't even know exists.

I love Sonic R. The soundtrack is sooooooo gay (well, the lyrics at least...), and most of the characters handle like a damn keg, but I think these things are part of its charm. It's weird, but it's fun, and a damn sight better than Traveller's Tales' other Sonic game (the terrible Sonic 3D Blast).
Anyway, I own Sonic Drift 2 and I don't really think it's that great, just an extremely generic kart racer with Sonic characters thrown in. I'd hope that whichever studio is handling this game would at least try to aim a little higher than that.

I like 3D blast.... (it's kind of funky and definitely doesn't play like the 2D sonic games, but I find it pretty fun, more than Chaotix too) But then again I (generally) prefer 3D platfromers to 2D.

Even though Sonic has missed the cart racer craze by a few years, this game has potential to be enjoyable.
If it's on par with Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart, then we've got ourselves a bona fide "rental" on our hands.

There were 2 levels in Sonic Adventure 2 that were driving levels, these strange roadways over the ocean that had parts of the railing missing. Tails converted his mech into some odd driving mode and Rouge had this car in the shape of her head, like something out of Darkwing Duck.

A lot of people on the Sega Of America forums are posting their dislike for the title of the game. Many of them are saying it should just be called Sega All Star Racers instead of SONIC & Sega All Star Racers.

:? They removed the wrong part... It should be just Sonic All Star Racing... or SegaSonic All Star Racing.;)
