I found a few magazine-page-sized ads that Renovation sent me in the mail waaaay back in the day, but I don't recall ever seeing them in any magazines, and they aren't on the site here. Two of the ads look like they were put together by a 2nd grade art class. The almost-professional looking one is for Gaiares, and the two goofy looking ones are for Granada and Arrow Flash. Want me to scan 'em?
I also found an extremely cheap pamphlet from Sega of America dated 2.5.92. It is black and white and was sent to me in the mail. Pretty cheesey but still kind of interesting. Want me to scan it?
If you don't like files in your e-mails, I can upload the scans to my server and you can grab them for yourself. I like to scan BIG so you can resize it how you like.
Let me know!

Sure, I wouldn't mind seeing those.
Were you signed up for a bunch of Genesis promotional stuff back in the day?

NO I'd just write the companies expressing my opinions on their games and they would sometimes send back weird schwag.

I don't think I was very clear in my first post, but I meant for these to be contributed to the site. So Melf, feel free to grab these and put them on Sega 16 if you want 'em. The ads had yellowed really bad, but using my awesome Photoshop skillz I fixed 'em. :)

"This shooting game is full of interesting gimmicks"
Capital fad play! I'm sold!
Interesting ads... that Sega of America pamphlet stinks of a crippled budget and shattered ambitions.

LOL! Nice!
Hey, does anyone else here remember the Gaiares ad telling you how it's pronounced, with the t-shirt offer? I always wanted that shirt.

I always pronounced Gaiares as Guy-ers, long before Renovation thought abut bringing it over to the US and I rented it, no wait I bought it!
I do remember that dude with the mullet and the teeth that was in the ads, though. :)

I've been known to pronounce it Guy-Air-Ees, but obviously the syllables run together a bit smoother than that when speaking it. Then again, I don't have much occasion to say the word 'Gaiares.' Conceivably it could also be pronounced Gaia-Res..
Heh, I always pronounced it "Guy-are-es."

I've never pronounced it. I've always read about the game, and I've seen the screenshots. On one occasion I played the game on an emulator. But I've never had to pronounce it. :?

I think the ad itself said "Gai-Ar-Us", which helped me a bunch because I was about 4 or 5 when the game came out, and trying to say it probably would've killed me.

You know, they did! The least I could've done was quit renting it and buy a copy...
I'm snatching all those ads! The print ad archive needs an update, and I have a ton to scan. I just have to get around to organizing them and actually doing it.
Thanks Joe!
