I had an idea where we could put the Video games Rating Council (or *ugh* ESRB) rating picture on a game's review or master list page. What do you think? I think it would go well with the site's Family Friendly orientation.

Who would be the unfortunate souls that would have to go through every game and decide how they think the ESRB would rate them though? There were a lot of games released before Sega started adding their own ratings of "GA", "MA-13" and "MA-17", and I'd imagine that would be a pretty daunting task.

Eh, not as daunting as you think IMO. I would gladly do it, lol.

The ESRB is US-only. What about other regions? Games tend to get rated for slightly different audience depending on region. As for the german market, the German USK-rating for videogames wasn't in place yet when the Mega Drive was around, so I really wouldn't know how to rate these games for a german audience...

I'd say just base it on the main major systems out there.

ESRB is pretty much universally recognized anyway, PEGI (IIRC) is pretty much Europe wide and OFLC works wonders for Australia and New Zealand.

Though, only one of the games I own has an OFLC rating.

Was the VRC US only though?

Was the VRC US only though?

It looks to be, since there's no rating on the cover of Bare Knuckle III or Vampire Killer (which were rated in America). The wikipedia entry for the VRC also makes no mention of anything other than Sega of America creating it to rate games released in America.
