Well, after much long time of trying to figure out how to distribute the hack I am finally able to make a topic.

Shining Difficulty is a ROM hack of Shining Force intended to make it more difficult, obviously. This is because in the original game, it was, quite honestly, too easy.

Thanks to the power of rubixcubers tools (From Shining Force Central) I have the power to modify the ROM (Not that I haven't had to do some dirty work myself;)).

Anyway, the hack is finished up to the battle to the Ancient Tower.

Many battles and monsters have been modified, along with Gong being boosted a bit (He needs it).

Now, I know you guys hate IPS patches, but its the law (Although, a rather pointless law, but thats the way copyright is). Anyway, please apply the patch to a binary version of the Shining Force ROM dump with Lunar IPS, if you have any issues with applying the patch, MSN/AIM me for 'assistance';). The patch is below.

For now, I'll just leave you with a video, no proof, that I've done something productive with my time. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6IrgZ22Xz8&fmt=18)

Well known bugs:
In some of the earlier chapters, the AI is just... stupid. This will be fixed in the future.
The Swords of Light, Darkness, whatever curse you for the moment, this is accidental, but since you shouldn't use them at this point anyway, no harm is done.

Anyway, I'll add more info when I can be bothered.:daze:

UPDATE! 9, August, 2009

IMPORTANT BUG ALERT!
Balbazak is dropping his Doom Blade, this is not suppose to happen! I have found the table that determines what item drops if a monster has it and I will release a patch very soon! Please drop the blade if you have gotten to that point!

Also, been working on things.

I've been finding out how palettes are stored, and unfortunately, each enemy sprite has a separate palette table, which is frustrating because it means I'm going to have to rip each individual enemies location for the palettes.

The worst part is, I am unable to relocate the palette tables because of the lack of apparent pointer, which is a pain, because enemies like Artillery only have one valid palette entry.

Anyway, for the curious minded, the location of the 'what items drop' table is 0002303A.

UPDATE! August the 10th.
THIS IS THE LATEST PATCH! DOOM BLADES NO LONGER DROP! (http://www.mediafire.com/?yymzwgdmnmj)

The first ship battle has also been modified due to AI concerns.
