I am stunned into silence. Really I am. How did that game warrent ANY kind of sequel, let alone one made my Macintosh? Have sega finally passed on the bad penny to someone else?

And more importantly, can you still die from falling down the stairs?

Good lord.
Of all the games to get a cult following... why Dark Castle?!

..oh yeah, and it wasn't developed by Macintosh. According to the link you posted, that sickening honour is instead bestowed upon a band of bastards known as Z Sculpt Entertainment.

EDIT: Errr, anyone with a Mac willing to give this a go?

You want someone to actually test it? Man, you are one daring man. I wouldn't touch it, even if I had a Macintosh.

I liked Dark Castle for the mac. It was really advanced for its time. And it played a zillion times better with a mouse to aim with.

I have seen the screenshots for this game. I don't have a Mac so I can't play it (Would I really want to). It looks just as idotic as the first and probably has the same bad gameplay.

I have a Mac. How much will you all pay me to try this out?

Well, we might need to pay for the loony home he'll have to live in afterwards. And the drugs to wipe out his memory of it. And the counsilling. And the surgery... Oh, and the head swap. :p

I had a Demo of Dark Castle on my mac a long time ago.
It was actually somewhat enjoyable since you aimed with the mouse and had a whole set of keys to controll actions and whatnot.

It still wasn't that good but it controlled ok.

Dark Castle began as a low-tech computer game anyway.
So it's likely that EA just took the DOS version and ported it to genesis in some twisted form of foreshadowing.

OK I downloaded it and before I quickly deleted it, I played it. I could walk left and right and go up and down stairs. I could throw a rock like a little girl about 3 feet in front of me. I walked up to some guy with a whip and tried to throw a rock at him but I was so wimpy that the rock could reach him, but he promptly whipped me to death with one slash. If you walk off a ledge you land on your face like a bellyflop. Then you reappear where you started the game. It sucked ass.

I remember almost breaking the rental cartridge to pieces back in the day. I will not crush my $3,000 Mac. DELETE!

I don't like macs, and this is a good reason to still hate them. Looks like a fan made game.

Macs are best for productive things like editing video and mixing sound, etc. For things like surfing the web, running shareware or talking on instant message programs, PC roolz.

I play a fair number of games, watch and use a lot of media, and

Paying over a thousand dollars for a computer is insane, maybe back in the day it'd be sane, but today it's nuts. I could put that $3,000 you spend on a Mac towards a engine swap/frame cleanup on my car, instead of a computer. That and I'd have true bragging rights.

And I just gave myself a idea... paypal plz

Not really. Paying that much for a computer to do what one does with a PC, such as e-mail and online banking, would be insane. Of course if you are into gaming on the PC, well, be prepared to spend MORE. I am not into computer games. However with my Mac I am able to run some pretty fancy software which is standard in the industry of video and sound editing. I can work from home and choose my own hours much of the time and then make quite a bit of money doing it. Of course I am not suggesting you or anyone else here run out and buy a Mac (you can get slower versions much cheaper, BTW), but I am asking you to at least have a little respect for the platform. There is nothing to "hate" about them.

I will admit they are great for audio and visual stuff, but for everything else I prefer the PC. I do not do any audio or video editing, I play a small number of games, so I'm a PC addict.

Let's just say I've seen a lot of people overhype Mac's for anything and when I give them a shot for something outside of Video/Audio editing I am always let down.

They do pretty much everything else well, but it is definitely not for games. You can kind of get it to run Microsoft Word (I've only tried a couple of times and I hate the program). They are decently stable as well. From my Mac right now:

And in my opinion, the actual OS is much more refined.

I have had better luck with PC's being stable than macs for some reason. I'm cursed.

Yeah but you can't get Dark Castle on a PC. That automatically makes Macs the bes... err... yeah.
