Strangely enough, though, he doesn't say anything about his family situation. Honestly, that's the most important thing I'd want to know about right now. I realize that he doesn't really owe us this information, but I don't think he should be making more videos if he's still trying to get back together with his wife, either...

Seems to me, he spent 2 years neglecting his family for his hobby. Now that they're gone, he probablys sees himself as being free to do as he pleases. His priorities are his own.

He said he is doing OK, which is enough to hear, really. I'm glad to hear it, it's good when people are doing OK. Except for child molestors and murderers.

Glad he's doing okay here, too. I knew things would work out and everything would become better.
Some people said his videos weren't that good, but hey, he was consistent. He's not setting up a movie shooting rig for youtube, he just points his camera and shoots, a lot like my vids (http://www.youtube.com/user/nathanallan1).
Also, for as long as I've been married and as much on gaming stuff that I've spent the same thing should have happened to me (but it didn't). There hasn't been one word on *her* side of things, and people (not just women) can be seriously irrational when they want to be.
I'm glad he's back, because it's a fun hobby and there are a lot of people to talk to about it, seems like his wife is NOT one of them. Youtube is one expression of many.
Anyway, rant/ off, my $0.02.

:D I'm glad he's back. I wish him the best. I Hope he stays and that he's sorted out the issues that called for his "Final Video."

Yeah, I want to know how his family is. He just talked about trolls for half of the video.

Who Cares?
^This.
I mean, the dude gave up his family for videogames! Seriously. I'm married with children and I, at times, do get frustrated because I cant enjoy my hobby as much as I want.
That being said, I know my wife and kids come first. If I want to spend more time playing games, I give up sleep or other time I could spend doing something else. I dont give up time with my family. Sorry to all that like him, but this dude is a loser.

I wonder what both you guys would say if this happened to you? ;) Indifference and casting blame when knowing nothing about the situation is a recipe for disaster both morally and ethically.

Not to start this whole thing again, but I'll bet it was a lot more complex than just his hobby getting in the way of things (that being both game playing and his youtube activities), as came up in the past thread, there's the whole culture shock issue and other factors that we cannot just guess about.

As much as I like the guy, I have to say bringing it to a pace like this where not to many people know him/know about him is asking for responses like this.

First off, I wouldnt let this happen to me. I absolutely love videogames. It is my hobby and it is my passion. Has been for my entire life. I love my family. I would sell every gaming item in a heartbeat if I had to for my family.
As far as casting blame, I am going off what this guy said. I dont really care about hearing both sides of the story. The guy went on youtube and put his dirty laundry out for everyone and anyone to see. Now, I dont wish this upon anyone, but, he basically made it known he lost his family due to him spending too much time/money on gaming. Came straight from the horses mouth.
Now, if he reconciled with his wife, thats great. If not, too bad.

I'm not trying to be an ass at all, but who is this dude and what is the family situation I keep hearing about? I watched the video and tried to look at some other of his stuff but I still don't quite understand what happened. The guy left his family for videogames? Is that right? I'm not going to hate on him I was just wondering. (EDIT) never mind I peeped his farewell vid. Bummer.

All we know for sure is what he mentioned in his "Final Video." Other than that, it's all speculative. He did not leave his family for video games, His wife left him (with their child) because of his video game "addiction." That's the dilemma Luke has explained to us thus far. We who actually have a heart and obviously don't have a clue as to who Luke is in real life, or about his life in general, have opted to send him good wishes, hoping the matter can one day be resolved.
[edit] Oh well, I guess your edit nullifies my post then. I'll keep it for future reference, nonetheless.;)

He seems to be making videos again. I guess he decided that his wife wasn't going to come back. Maybe idk. Idk what I'd do if a loved one told me to quit playing video games.
Anyway, now I'm a subscriber thanks to his farewell vid lol. He needs to start doing Japanese video game store videos again because those are the best.
