I've seen this at Wal Mart before, but I never seen what the actual gameplay was.
Nice twist to the classic though. The sound is a bit awkward, but the gameplay seems promising for a game for 8 year olds.
Edit: (from blurry gameplay video in playlist) This console has loading times??? :wtf: I guess they use flash memory instead of traditional cartridges. I think the speech synthesizer is funny, though.

I've called you an idiot before but... yeah. There's "not liking a game" and there's "fucking crying about it."
True, Sonic 360 tried to handle a plot bigger than it could take, had crappy load times for a modern gen game, and Silver was a horrible ripoff of the alien from Destroy All Humans, but when Sega hands you what you keep asking for- Sonic Advance, Sonic Rush- and you ignore it, why the hell should they listen to the "fans"?
Bitch about Black Knight, but you're a hypocrite. When Legend of Zelda does the EXACT SAME GAME, you eat it up. Sonic Unleashed was their best effort, but it wasn't good enough. And why should Sega care? They KNOW you people will never stop complaining so it's pointless to try and please you.
If I were Sega, I'd try even MORE new things just to piss off the "fans" even more. You wanna cry, I'd give you a reason to cry.
Sonic Chronicles is pure shit, but that blame lies with Bioware, as they can NOT make a good game. Just overhyped shit. Don't yell "Mass Effect" at me, Mass Effect is an interactive movie at best.

All of the games you listed are middling at best. There hasn't been a decent Sonic game since Adventure 2, really (which still wasn't great). There hasn't been a great Sonic game since S3&K.
Sonic Advance and Rush are so fucking dull, crappy colours and godawful level designs abound. Advance 3 is the first Sonic game that has ever put me to sleep. Seriously, these games are so mediocre they're not even worth mentioning. They retain none of the charm or fun factor that the original 2D titles had in spades.
Sonic 360 was a broken mess. The ideas behind Sonic Is A Swordsman and Sonic Is A Werewolf are so completely asinine that it's almost hard for me to believe that an actual group of human beings sat down and thought the concepts through to fruition. It doesn't help that these games are just as fundamentally flawed as any other 3D entry to the series.
Sonic fucking blows now dude. He is the last refuge of 12 year old retards and closeted furries. It's time to let go.

Bioware knows how to make good games. You must have been too busy hugging teddy bears in your PJ's to have played Baldur's Gate when it was new. Knights of the Old Republic is the best Star Wars RPG ever, and stands toe-to-toe Chrono Trigger.
Mass Effect can be seen as them 'Trying something new with what they know', which you seem to praise Sega for while ostracizing legitimate concerns from the established fan base.
Also, I sense you don't consider anybody who hates the new sonic games, "Fans" with the way you've worded your post.
Just because you like the new dog-shit sega's been milking to stay alive, doesn't make you a "True Fan" or remove the valid complaints established by their releasing it.
The Rush and Advance praise only gos so far as well, since the main complaint was always the lack of "A Good 3D Sonic Title On A Console."
So I ask this:
What is it you have truly said here?
Aside from referencing your previous attempts at pissing on 17daysolderthannes, did you just feel 'compelled' to respond to his post with condescending rabble holding no meaningful point?
Here's what I see:
"RAWR! I Called You an Idiot!...SONIC RULZ, UR ALL STOOPID FOR NOT BUYING NEW CRAP AND BUYING ZELDA, YOU R NOT "FANS". SEE THAT? I USED QUOTATIONS! RAWR! WHY SHOULD SEGA CARE, BIOWARE SUCKS, MY OPINIONS ARE TRUTH!!! RAWR! NAP TIME!! zZZzzz"

Yeah, I can underststand that, though my personal taste doesn't match that at all. I personally love adventure games and 3D platformers, Sonic 2006 is possibly the second worst sonic game ever made though, I think that barely playable basterdized GBA "Sonic Genesis" port is even worse though. (for ruining a classic if nothing else)
Still SA1+2 are the best 3D sonic games, Heros was bearable if you were good at ignoring annoying characters (Japanese voices were sometimes worse too so that's no help). Haven't played much of Secret Rings or Black Knight, but they seem OK, and are at least pretty nice looking for the Wii (and BK is not like Zelda at all IMO, more like a hack and slash 3D game combined with a 3D platformer).
I think Unleashed was actually more playable on the Wii, lower poly count and not HD, but it removed the annoying wandering overworld sections with simpler a fixed map screen instead. And the controlls were pretty good, Wiimote was so so, but GC controlller was great.
Still, if you're not a big 3D platformer fan, the flaws are probably too great to overcome.
I also immagien the "adventure" portion (overworld) of SA1 was rather boring/annoying for you as well, it was a plus for me personally though, as I like the wandering exploration of the adventure game style. (SA2 was much better at getting into the action though)

Threads like this are exactly the reason I hope nobody important at Sega ever, ever discovers the Internet.
I mean, if someone explained in excruciating detail, down to bullet-pointed lists, exactly in what way you have personally offended them in the past decade, you'd tell them where to get off (to put it politely). Precisely because the type of person who would reel off lists like that is the type I wouldn't want anything to do with.
What on Earth makes this particular videogame character/series serious business? Grow the fuck up, people!

The emphasis was more on how good of a job they did turning classic Sonic action into an educational game that wasn't god awful to play. If I had a son, I would buy that shit in half a second. If you watch the videos on the website, you can even hookup the handheld game system to the computer and make your own customized spelling lists and stuff. So, if you were the age that you still take spelling tests, you could just put your list for the week into the Didj and play Sonic and make an A when the test came around. God I wish I had that, for me it was staring at a book going "GOD DAMMIT, I JUST WANT TO PLAY GAME GEAR!!!!"

Yeah, that does look like a pretty good conversion to edutainment (probably some of the best of that genre I've seen). The sound is a bit off, but actually seems better than the shitty GBA port.

I wonder where the notion of "hey, this game is fun, I'll continue to play it forever" went? Now its like "these games are awful, 'whine whine where did my childhood memories go?"
They're just video games...thankfully, I have the ability to ignore them and continue playing my sega genesis.
I might also add that this disappointment is nothing new: I submit into evidence a summarized letter to Electronic Gaming Monthly from January 1994:
"I'm really tired of this concept of ''beating'' video games, I really wish games would go back to where they were when I was a kid, just trying to get a high score not all this complicated mess. Video games simply aren't fun to me anymore."
Huh...that seems really familiar, somehow.

Ehh Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights+addons? Some believe MDK2 was great (never played it though).
Even Shattered Steel was pretty decent aside from bugs.
But then again Jade Empire was poor so not all of their games are good no.

Sonic Advance sold so well that it got 2 sequels and a few spin offs, and Sonic Rush sold almost 3 million copies and spawned a sequel. Why? Because they were two good 2D Sonic games and not the 3D crap Sega churns out every year. And again, you just proved my theory about Sega releasing a good 2D Sonic right after it releases a shitty 3D one. It's a digital apology!
Sonic Unleashed was their best effort, but it wasn't good enough. And why should Sega care? Sonic Unleashed was good, until Sonic turned into a werehog. You know what made Sonic Adventure such a cool game? You played Sonic, and he ran and did platform stuff like he used to on the Genesis. Sega moved farther and farther away from that with each new game, and that's why Sonic sucks now.
If I were Sega, I'd try even MORE new things just to piss off the "fans" even more. You wanna cry, I'd give you a reason to cry.I doubt it would really change things. Sonic games can't get any worse than they already are, and yet people STILL buy them!

Elusive's Sonic Cycle:
First info released - fans immediately question WHY it's not S3&K in 2.5D like their fanfiction. Series is widely condemned as dead.
More screens, trailer released - fans immediately seize on freeze-frames of pre-production gameplay to explain exactly HOW it's not S3&K in 2.5D. Moans and howls of "I WON'T BUY IT, SEGA IS FUCKING US AGAIN" heard across the blogosphere. Fan-artists begin cranking out 'ironic' Rule 34 dreck, spurred on by 'ironic' requests by 'ironic' fans with 'ironic' senses of humor. Series is still widely condemned as dead.
Game released - fans all proclaim "WE TOLD YOU SO", sit back smugly, buy the game anyway and complain how it's not S3&K in 2.5D. Series is still widely condemned as dead; the game ends up in the 6-7 range on Metacritic anyway. And so the cycle continues...

I think the reason Sega keeps churning these crappy Sonic games out is because there like the only ones that consistently sell a million units. Anything else and the masses simply ignore it. Sonic 2 which was the best selling Genesis game would come in at 5 under SF2 for the SNES. In fact Nintendo has never ever had this particular problem.

nope, just weird people. Weird, culturally devoid people that try to supplement their lack of any belonging with estranged Japanese anime weirdness. Again, its the anime FANS that killed anime for me, not that I would've watched most of it to begin with. The only anime I can actually enjoy are the ones that could just as easily be live action (Initial D, Wangan Midnight, and actually, they both have live action movies, lol).

SF II Turbo is the only version I really loved, all the rest had glaring problems:
SF II was slow and clunky
SF II CE was blatantly unbalanced
SF II Turbo/SCE was just plain awesome
Super SF II/Turbo was again unbalanced and offered nothing new and only killed what was good
SF III was too technical and all of the playable characters were fucking stupid
SF IV cheesed out everything that SF II Turbo had going for it and ruined it as a result
Therefore, everyone should play Fatal Fury 3/Real Bout/Mark of the Wolves

I didn't like Mario Kart DD that much either (it was OK), don't care for some of the mario party games (and all seem too time consuming for me), I liked Mario Tennis on N64, but newer ones haven't seem to improved, Mario Strikers on GC was OK, the Wii one isn't that much fun though.
I didn't love Galaxy either, my btother liked it a bit more, but it wasn't that engaging for me, 64 or Sunshine are my favorite 3D Mario games (a toss up), and Yoshi's Island for 2D hands down.

yes, it does, very much so, so what does that have to do with Tennis? Golf? the Olympics? exactly.
It means that when Nintendo is wanting some extra moo-la, they shoehorn Mario's fat ass into some game and watch as fans with a boner for Mario eat it up.
That is also the only reason I can think of why Sega makes money on these newer Sonic games, some people love Sonic so goddamn much they gotta have him as a "werehog".

I know, that's what I just said: those games have not a goddamn thing to do with Mario and dumbasses need to stop buying them without evaluating them to see if they are steaming shitpile first. If people wouldn't buy them, they wouldn't make them, like I said in this and 242345324 other threads, the only way things will get better is if people stop buying the shitty games. The only way to do that is to make an attempt (however feeble) to educate these people before they put $60 in some asshole's pocket only to get home and go "aw man, this is terrible!"
