If SNES could have handled it. Do you think Genesis/Megadrive could have given the same performance?

Probably better performance, but the graphics may have been... hmmm. The character graphics could have been pretty good I think since they don't use a lot of gradients, but the backgrounds may have looked a bit drab.

I agree, I think the colors would have taken a step back. Yet the overall performance of the gameplay would still be smooth imho.

I wonder, would Capcom have added an extra 8 megs whose use no one can identify? :p

Nice to see you GnG! Happy anniversary too! :)

thank you kindly Melf, I finally decided to join after such a long time :) I figured I needed to get in touch with the 16-bit side of the Sega again after such a long absent.

Oh btw, it's your Forum's anniversary too, you guys opened on Feb 24th, the day after mine from what I remember

It would have been perfect for the 32X... IMO.

Now that's something I can firmly believe. 32X could almost pull off anything. Heck, it almost got Dracula X (PCE port) didn't it?

Well, the SNES running the game, even with a coprocessor was a miracle, but didn't it have loading times, a low print run, and not much fanfare. Can't win 'em all...

What's really sad, the PC version of Street Fighter Alpha 2 is based on the hacked up Playstation version! Oh my... Oh yeah, welcome, Ghouls N Ghosts!

Yup, every Capcom PC game was usually based on the PSX if it was 2D or re-built from the ground up (Resident Evil 1-2-3 i.e.) if 3D

Oh and thank you all for the warm welcome :)

Actually all of the reviews of the SNES SF Alpha 2 I have read in real magazines have said that the game does indeed have "loading time". Crazy!

They were in fact working on a port of Darkstalkers for the 32X. Had the system's fate been better, there could easily have been a version of Alpha 2.

And yes, the SNES version does indeed have loading times. Still an extremly impressive port though, too bad they had to cut down on the sound so much.

That's right, I nearly forgot about that. Darkstalkers was suppose to come to 32X!

As for the SF Alpha 2 sound issue, yeah it sounds like someone talking from a tin can...
