I've known about that for a while, but I didn't want to tell anyone, because Acclaim made some crappy games.

at the very least this could mean that 'Red Star' could finally get a release.
It was a title that actually played well. . .lost in the shuffle as Acclaim shut down.
But if this means flooding the shelves with more MK&A games, they may as well stay dead.

Yep, now if only the second game saw a release on other consoles than the PS2, maybe I would have played it.

Is it sad that I registered to try and get into the beta?

If you consider being forced to play crappy, sub-par games based on bad movies for the rest of your life 'sad'. I think it's funny.

You didn't miss much... it was largely disappointing. And not just for being on PS2.

Yeah. I'm sure I remember a page where they were auctioning off all of their games in development, though, so maybe they'd have to buy it back first?
I think I played a demo of Red Star. Was it a 2Dish side-scrolling shooter?

I got accepted into the Beta for Acclaim's new game but I don't feel like downloading and/or playing it.

I think it was more of an X-Men Legends-style overhead perspective.
