I know the genesis and turbo grafx were bitter enemies back in the day but now most of us are grown up and we can all get along. So are any of you guys into the turbo? It's personally one of, if not my favorite system.

I have a modded Duo and love it to death. There were so many great games for this system that it's a shame it doesn't get more respect. Sure, NEC fucked up the marketing big time, but there were a ton of innovations made with it (CD games, HuCard games, etc) that it should have a bigger place in history than it does.

It's a favourite of mine. My personal pantheon of HuCard splendor includes Devil's Crush, Blazing Lazers, Bonk's Revenge, R-Type, Aero Blasters, Dragon's Curse, Space Harrier, Somer Assault, Galaga '90.. yessir, I dig it plenty.

I've never played with a turbo grafx. Back in the 16-bit heyday I never even knew it existed.

I loved Turbografx and Turbo CD back in the day. I have a Duo now, but it's only a recent acquisition, and I only have 5 games for it.

I never thought of Genesis and Turbo being bitter enemies. Nintendo was the enemy. :P

I have a regular TG-16 console, with about 15 games.....I've never been really impressed with it....but I do wish I had some of the better games...

The games I have that I like are Splatterhouse, Devils Crush, Bonks, Ninja Spirit, and Gunboat. I don't have any of the popular shmups..and most of the best games are the Jap ones, but they get expensive.

Every game you have is pretty good with the exception of gunboat. If you want a good shmup that isn't too expensive i'd recommend blazing lazers.

I agree. Blazing Lasers is indeed the bees' knees.

There are a number of fairly common and well-priced Turbo shooters out there, but yeah.. the PC-Engine was blessed with the better roster, but at least the Turbo got the better release of R-Type..

Ah well.. the Turbo HuCard shooter library has Blazing Lazers, R-Type, Cyber Core, Ordyne, Psychosis, Dragon Spirit, Space Harrier, Super Star Soldier, Aero Blasters, Soldier Blade, Somer Assault, Galaga '90 and Magical Chase, and I like 'em all. Only a few of those will cost you more than $20, with the notable exception of Magical Chase which I just checked for on Ebay, and it's carrying a price of $799.95. That's, errr.. a little steep.

The Turbo is also home to possibly my most hated shooter of all-time: Deep Blue. Anyone played this steaming pile?

I've avoided deep blue because i've heard some horrible things about it and I don't want to get a bad impression of my favorite system.

And Magical Chase usually sells for between $200-$300 unless stupid people like that are selling it. Still expensive I know, though I will probably one day buy it to have a complete u.s. collection. At least it's a good game unlike some rare games which are quite horrible.
