Hey.
Just ordered it on Amazon for 75c. Had a plan to pick it up sooner or later for the Retrogen. I was wondering if there are any Roadblaster fans in the house? I was thinking about getting it on the PS2 compilation but I heard that version was glitchy. I think it is a better idea anyway since I can play it on my Model 1 and my Retrogen now instead of just on the PS2.
Roadblaster fans unite!

What PS2 compilation?
The Genesis version is shockingly close to the arcade version, they even got the handling right when going from a steering wheel to a d-pad. It's kind of a shallow game, but still alot of fun.

Midway Arcade Treasures Volume 1
but like I said above I heard that there was a whole lot of glitches in it. So I went for the low tech Genesis version. can't wait to pop it in my retrogen.

No glitches in the Gamecube version of said compilation.
But yes, the Genesis version is an extremely good port.

I picked it up cheap on ebay a little while back, and the game is fantastic. It is a bit shallow, but it makes a great portable game, it should be a nice fit for the Retrogen. It's a little too blurry and chaotic for the Nomad, unfortunately.

When I get it I will tell you how it is on the new Retrogen.

Ya, I love the tunes and the robot voice when you win a race. I have it on MAME and it looks great.

One of my all time favorite arcade games, man. I love the sit down version. So intense! It probably took nearly $25 in quarters from me over the years.

Just got it in the mail yesterday....didn't boot up at first but after I gave it a cleaning and a puff of air it worked just fine.
It's a very intense game after level 10 and it works great in the Retrogen.

Man i need to play my Lynx again, i had great times with it as a child,
and that reviewer is right, not much support from other companies but Atari's own ports were excellent!
California Games has to be the best port of it ever, its colorful and fun to play and the music is great,
Slime World, even better then the original version since they upgraded its looks and added better sounds,
Rampage, featuring a 4th monster! (at the time we've only had 3 till then) and some great visuals,
Stunn Runner, this video does not do it justice, its much better on the real thing.
Road Blasters, simple but addicting.
Klax, this is pretty much THE Lynx game if you ask me, every Lynx owner should have Klax in his/her collection.
Warbirds, awesome Biplane game, and i played it in deathmatch against a friend and it was really fun.
Paperboy, a good port that plays great and has some excellent visuals.
Bill & Tedd's Excellent Adventure, somewhat difficult to get into and the whole password thing is a drag,
but looking back i had a great time playing this adventure game.
That emulator he's using really does not do the games justice, they look and sound much better on the real thing.

^ Speaking of emulators. Roadblasters plays much better on real hardware compared to emulators.

how could it play any better than Kega Fusion? Or do you mean like Genesis vs. MAME? if so, it's because it's meant to have a proper steering wheel like Outrun and MAME is just simulating that as best as it can with digital inputs.

I don't know....to me it just played a lot better on my Model 1 then it did on Kega fusion. It seemed to have some slowdown and some graphical issues.

are you using the latest version? Are you on an old computer? were you playing a bad ROM dump? It doesn't get any better than Kega! make sure ROMs have a [U] and a [!] after them to be sure they are US and checked for proper function. Avoid [b] at all costs, it means "bad dump".
edit: I just played it on the Mac version and it plays perfectly. Even better, the HQ2X REALLY helps the graphics, it's one of the better examples of graphics filters improving the graphics to near HD quality.

^ I think it may have been one of the filters that was the culprit.

The emulator isn't doing the game justice. The music and sound are perfect on the Lynx game.
Road Blasters was the first title I'd bought for my Lynx. ;)

How the hell does this game (Roadblasters) look and play so well on my model 1 while Super Hang on plays like a pile of crap?
