Hey guys, first post here, nice forum.


Anyways, I came here to ask a question -- see, I figured I knew everything there is to the Genesis, but lo and behold, at EBGames the other day I saw a complete game called Calbre .50. It looks like some kind of Ikari Warriors ripoff, and the case itself looked very...ah, cheap.


Any clue on what this game is? How rare it is? I'm certain it'll soon become my 100th Genney game if I buy it.


Funny how you think you know all there is to know, and every once in a while a game teaches you a lesson in humility. At least that's how it's always been in my experience :P

It is based on an arcade game of the same name. It is nothing special, but it is decent for its genre.

I didn't like the Genesis version much, the arcade version was a fun distraction however.

I'd pick it up. It's very much in the style of Ikari Warriors, Heavy Barrel and Guerilla War. Personally I enjoy this game very much, and it's not in my Genesis collection yet. If I found a complete (or even loose) copy in the wild like that I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I would call it a rare, or at the very least very uncommon. It's currently rated a 5(out of 10) rarity on the DP guide, so it's a good pickup for collection purposes, and it's a mighty fun game to boot. Go back and buy it is my advice.

I'd pick it up. It's like Ikari Warriors, but actually better IMO.

The controls were a bit weird, takes some time to get used to.

It's much better than those copies of Cyborg Justice and S. Thunderblade you got.

Yeah, I myself enjoyed it. Can't remember where I played it, I wanna say I may have seen it in an arcade booth once. But I also have a ROM and it is fun. Kinda tough at parts, though.

Oh yeah Dart, you post here don't you :)

It's crazy, I thought I knew every Genesis release there was and then some, can't believe I never found out about this one just a few weeks ago.

I'm certain I'll pick it up, but I wanted #100 to be a bang, you know? Then again the other one I had planned on getting was Dashin' Desperadoes, so eh -- not much bang out there I don't already have that's out stateside.
