Finally got around to playing single player and that airport scene was a little disturbing. I actually had some remorse killing all the civilians.....Good to know that after 30 years of gaming, I have been completely desensitized to killing....

I'm shocked that this hasnt caused a gigantic controversy with the media. Fox News doesnt count.

I like the airport map, since there's not as much sniping as the other maps. It levels the playing field a bit more than the other maps.

man what a game! the music alone is a master piece! Completed it this weekend on Veteran! :D and been hammering the multiplayer, prob the only game in a long time where i've wanted to play the single player again its epic!

Have you played the Special Ops levels yet?

They're pretty intense as well. One level felt like the Horde from Gears of War 2.

You mean "the most haters" of the year award. Come on, Fox News and Common Sense media doesn't mean this game is unpopular. 4 million sales on day one means it definitely is popular.

You HAVE to differentiate between the PC and console releases, guy. Yes, the PC release is a stinkbomb and everyone hates it. But reviewers are creaming their pants over the 360 version as with MW1.

I disagree with that argument.

The hate comes from the PC community with clearly justifiable enough reasons. The game removed expected features inherent to their market. A console (menu), & possible mod scene. "Ouch ... but OK."

They also don't have dedicated servers, unlike XBL/PSN, it requires an ass-backwards reliance on some P2P protocols.

Last time I checked, North America's not exactly 'impressive' with the bandwidth layout. You have ISP's throttling left, right & center, and barely an infrastructure to support the already 5 year old bandwidth technology standards currently implemented.

Throw in the small issues pertaining to gameplay (lean), which anybody can argue on personal preference, but I won't because I don't care.

THEN with Infinity Ward's effortless & moot communication to PC gamers when they ask questions, and their obvious new-found lust for a locked-in Pay-to-Play online multiplayer service.(No thanks to Blizzard revenues, no doubt.)

It's certainly not "Haters, being haters"

Sure there are arguments like "Console game ports being released on PCs are The Great Satan! Our industry is fucked! Boycott this game!" floating around. I wouldn't write off the rest of it though.

I certainly am not buying this game either, maybe on 360 if I ever bother to hook it up. (unlikely)

I bet all games wish they had this must hate. Activision and IW are laughing all the way to the bank. Honestly, this game kicks ass. The single player, while short, is very sweet. Multiplayer is godly. The best on a console. To top it off, the co-op missions are fantastic. I think I have more fun with co op than anything else.

The only negative.....I hate that they dont say "TAKE NO PRISONERS COMRADES!" to start off MP......I loved that line in CoD 4.....

Not really.
Super Smash Bros. Melee is amazing and deep, and Brawl isn't.
Nintendo purposefully took everything that took skill out of the game, saying they wanted it to be easier for kids who only had a wiimote.

No more wavedashing, L cancelling, combos, sweet spotting the ledge, ...and it's a joke watching pro's play now, they just sit on the ledge and wait for their opponent to come get them off.
It's a ledge sit competition.

...and the Joystiq link is not to fox news.

Basically the games pro scene is going to be like Brawl's...which has a pro scene, it's just full of douche bags who get laughed at by real pros, and real pros don't play.

And that's all a FPS or fighting game is worth these days TBH

Did you read the article and not just the headline? There's a link to a video in which Fox News anchor Steve Doocy (you know, that guy who said "THIS....IS...HUUUUUUUUUGE!" during the '08 primaries) actually says that allowing your child to play Modern Warfare 2 can turn them into a terrorist. I'm not exaggerating his quote.
