I decided to play xmen 2 with the good ol' genie and after entering codes it gave me this message.

"This game is intended for use on systems"

Didn't specify what region just that whatever I was doing, it wasn't gonna fly.

Do any other games do this, and is there a workaround?

Did you forget to put in the Master Code?

Here is the site I obtained the code.

Whipassgaming X-men 2 Game Genie (http://www.whipassgaming.com/genesisreviews/gamegenie/genesis1/xmen2.htm)

No mention of a master code, some games sometimes don't even use master codes.

Odd that sega would lock out game genie so late in the game.

That's odd because I've played X-Men 2 with the Game Genie with no problems. As far as I know there's no master code for X-Men 2. Which codes were you using exactly? Try some of the ones here (http://www.bsfree.org/?s=3&d=2&g=1958) and here (http://www.thegshi.org/?s=v2&sys=8&gid=1029)

moonmaster1, if you're still having problems getting your Game Genie working, let me know which console you're playing on (Genesis, European MD or Japanese MD), and exactly which code/codes you used, and I'll see if I can figure out a solution (ie. a Game Genie code to fix the problem).

I used 3 codes, 2 for wolverine, regenerate up to 9 *full health*, and regenerate 4 times as fast. And one for Inf. Lives.

AKRT-AA58 - Infinite lives
AB7B-WWDN - Regenerate all the way up to 9
6F7B-WADG - Regenerate four times as fast

All are on the page I previously posted.

I tried this on my US model 2 Genesis twice, with and without codes. All codes give credit back to Galoob which is odd because they usually are on top of things as far as game compatibility.

Let me know what you can find Tony H, I'll be sure to help on my end the best I can. :D

EDIT: well I guess something was screwing with me because I tried the game genie 10 minutes after I posted and everything worked like it should. Did I have the cart in wrong?

I should look into what causes these screens to pop up, I once got a anti-piracy warning when I first started Donkey Kong Country 3.

some cleaning of the cartslots and carts with alcohol and pencil eraser can do wonders...
