Now although this site is called Sega "16" for a reason, meaning all game reviews is for the Megadrive and it's addons, it would be really nice to see Master system and Gamegear games as an extra, to add more diversity to the site. Heck, the Megadrive had an "addon" where you could play MS games on it.
Although i'm glad this site exists for us devoted Sega Fanbois (And no Nintendo Fanbois!) lol kidding, i just feel there isn't enough content to view due to being only one system and it's two addons to review. Not bashing the site or anything, just stating my opinion and a suggestion.
Not sure if it's going to pull through though, but worth a suggestion right? :D

I think this had been discussed many times, but yeah, I do agree that reviewing Master System games makes a lot of sense as you indeed can play the entire library on Genesis (except maybe F-16 Fighting Falcon) - either via Power Base Converter, PBC 2 and third party adapters, or the NeoMyth 3-in-1.

Well, for the time being, there's at least this "Power Base Converter Buyer's Guide": http://www.sega-16.com/feature_page.php?id=343&title=Power%20Base%20Converter%20Buyer%27s%20Guide
And personally I think Sega8bit (http://www.smstributes.co.uk/) is enough for the Master System needs. I mean, Over there you could make a similar argument saying "Why don't they cover Genesis games, you can play Master System Games on a Genesis, too".

My favorite SMS site on this planet would be www.SMSPower.org

Just you shut your mouth. You can get banned for suggesting such things on this site.

If you insult everyone while doing it, yes, you can get banned.

It's alright Melf. I'm feeling he was just messing around. I just wanted to see his reply.

I'm surprised he's not banned already. Why isn't that the last straw after that shitstorm he started in the other thread?
I for one agree with Jasper. I want to see coverage on other systems sometime in future years.

No he's not messing around. He had ideas similar to yours, but where you are calm and rational, he threw a fit when his ideas didn't fly over.
He blew up at me, Knuckle Duster, and eventually Melf and Joe. He gave the last two somewhat of an apology, but nobody else. :?
But I agree that when Genesis stuff dries up, there will be a need to move on to other Sega systems.

Nope, Not me. Having read that thread I can only offer this wisdom now, in retrospective.

He sounds like a bitter one. :daze:
I sorta agree that there should be sections for other Sega stuff, but it should be for only SMS/GG ports of Genesis games like Ecco the Dolphin and Streets of Rage.

Maybe there should be a section on ONLY SMS/GG ports of Genesis games like Ecco the Dolphin and Streets of Rage.
Stuff like that would make a good feature as a Side-by-side comparison (kinda like Baloo did for Castle of Illusion (http://sega-16.com/feature_page.php?id=405&title=Side%20by%20Side:%20Castle%20of%20Illusion%2 0(Genesis%20vs.%20Game%20Gear)))

Nothing an apology won't smooth over.
I like the idea of Gen & SMS/GG comparisons of Genesis games/ports.

I think that SMS/GG would be great, Sega8bit does have reviews but they aren't the best at all and there's no GG coverage anywhere on the web.

And me...in fact I think the combo of us is what set him off.
:daze:
And I agree with side by side's.
Those are always interesting.
Sonic 3D Blast vs. Sonic Blast vs. Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn)
Good times.

Has anyone done a comparison of Sonic 3D Blast vs. Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn)?
That could be my next feature!

There are many Side by Sides that could be done. I've always wanted to do a Joe Montana Football one.

I would do that one if I actually had the Genesis game. I only have the Game Gear one, but that one I actually like a lot. Very good football game.

The Genesis one is unbelievable. I wrote a review for it.
I guess I could emulate the GG one, lol.

Defo. Go for it! I have the PC, saturn and Mega Drive versions. The special stages on all 3 are different from each other.

Wow...three different special stages for the same game?!

There are tons Sega games that were on other Sega systems at the same time. In G-Loc the Genesis version switches from 1st to 3rd person view, in the Master System version there are boss battles and in the GG version you can collect powerups. Same with Outrun, the Genesis version has Step on Beat while the GG version you can race the CPU or another person.

Side by sides comparing SNES to Sega are good too.
Especially for games like Super Street Fighter 2...
Did you guys know that the SNES Super Street Fighter 2 is missing the following things?
"Round x, Fight!" voice sample
"Max Out!" voice sample
Cammy's animation frames (to censor her tit jiggles)
In addition, the SNES' SSF2 sound effects are all completely different from the arcade versions.
It sounds like a slap fight, instead of sounding like heavy punch sounds.
When people do their special moves, it sounds like horrible high pitched god knows what.
Yea, the Genesis voices are a little scratchy, but they aren't missing voices like the SNES version.
You can put the game in Expert mode, the Genesis version can have 7 turbo stars instead of 4.
The differences in backgrounds are still there, but they're smaller this time.
Blanka's rope for his fish is still missing. Clouds no longer move.
Ryu's bats are still missing, but now the clouds move...but so does the MOON! very fast. Seems tacky.
Boxer's stage lost the Nin Nin Hall (why lose the best part of his stage?)
Claw's stage, the two dancing girls have more frames of animation
SNES music again sounds nothing like the arcades, but Sega's music is sometimes awful (Boxer, Sagat theme) sometimes Sega's music is dead on though while SNES isn't.
Hard to call the music category.
All the SNES voices, and SFX have a microphone effect, like someone recorded them really quiet, then cranked the volume up so we can hear all the wind.
Side by sides are fun.

Has a real strong driving beat.

Yeah. I have all 3 versions. The PC version has that plain purple coloured half tube ala Sonic 2. The Saturn version has checked textures and backgrounds. Also like the Sonic 2 one but has some extras. And that topdown view Mega Drive one where you dodge the spikes.

The SSF2 Genesis version sounds like someone held one key on a keyboard down, and played the rest of the music in the background.
It's really annoying, especially when you're used to a better version of the track. (like the CPS1 arcade original...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS9IUpeTp_Q)
