INB4, I'm only talking about the original DOS System Shock, not the even more advanced System Shock 2. From my knowledge of how the 32X handled Doom (albeit with horrible music), something like System Shock 1 could actually be possible, preferably with the Neo Myth. For the inventory system, I'd imagine the player would have to get a Sega Mouse or use the MODE button to bring up an inventory screen which can be navigated with a D-Pad. I don't really know a lot about the 32X aside from what is brought up here, so I'll leave this conundrum to Chilly Willy or TmEE. How would System Shock fare on a 32X?
I'm looking some gameplay video, and I think you could get a maybe halfrate game with low res, probalby no voices or very low quality ones... the navigation system would probably have to be completely reworked. Reading about the game, seems its quite low performance on the machines of its era, and 32X is only comparable to perhaps a 33MHz 486SX...

From what I remember about System Shock it would have to be a 32xCD game! Just so you CAN have all the talking and intro videos... But I think very doable! Framerate definitely wouldn't be as smooth as this video...

Don't forget about RAM requirements... one of the biggest hurdles of converting contemporary games to 32x... (or CD 32x)

*watches System Shock 1 video*
Damn, that actually looks doable on the 32X. I'd certainly play it! :)

creepiest. game. EVER. I've got a copy of the especially rare Macintosh version of this game. Higher resolution video and audio. System Shock is the only game I've played that gave me nightmares.

What's so bad about a haunted space station? Try Silent Hill 2, finish the Hospital. Then tell me System Shock is scarier.

I haven't played either, but from what I've seen, I got the impression System Shock II was scarrier... I really don't know though.
I agree for SH 2 though, possibly the best/scarriest SH game, 3 was good (not as psycologicaly tweaked though) and I haven't gotten a chance to play SH1. (there's emulation now, but it's kind of pricey, I suppose I could pirate it...) A direct upgraded port for PC would have been awsome... (not a remake mind you)
I'll have to see what that new Wii/PS2 game is like.

I'll admit SS2 is creepier but the thing that makes the two System Shock games so much creepier than Resident Evil or Silent Hill is SHODAN, especially her voice. The stoic, cold stutter she has, and the way her voice is composed of 3 voices that each overlap and say the same words at fluctuating speeds, gives her a voice that sounds somewhere between Max Headroom and Pazuzu (the latter being the demon from The Exorcist that possessed the little girl).

Pfft, RE isn't very creepy compared to either game... (at least the majority of RE games) I need to play System Shock though to really compare it to SH. (that and SH1...)
