help! Genesis 2 BROKEN!

Well, i have a choice of returning the system or trying to fix it.

I think the Video output port on the system is faulty, how do i fix what do i look for when i open it?

When i turn the system on with a game or no game it just shows a weird black screen with a grey bar like organic pattern running up and down the screen. I think it caught sound off a game when a game was in and made a crazy noise.

So im pretty sure its the video output

If you can return it, I would. Then get one for the same price from someone here. Genny 2's are pretty easily had.

But check the cartridge slot (clean it, may help, you never know) and one game to test with. Clean it up really good so you know that both slot and game are very clean, then see what happens.

i have several test games i will hope it works let me keep trying

ok it works, but for some reason any black screen has a huge gradient grey bar scrolling up the entire screen slowly, all games work perfect but video is funky, i have GEN3 av cables hooked up


something is wrong i must return it, the screens are messed up on all games, even the sound is messed up

Yeah, the output is screwed up. Either the cable is bad or the system is faulty. Return it.
