So I caved and bought a Power Base Converter due to having a curiosity about the Master System. I never owned a Master System or any games for it growing up, but some of my favorite series got started on it, like the Wonder Boy series. So far I bought the Base and five games:
Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars
Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap
Zillion
Cloud Master
Hang-On/Astro Warrior
What other games should I pick up? I'm already planning on getting the rest of the Alex Kidd series and Wonder Boy series, Golvellius, golden Axe Warrior, and have already ordered Kenseiden. And please, I want "good" games, not necessarily games that are merely good because there's nostalgia attached to them, also no ports. If it's already on the Genesis or other systems, chances are I already own it. Thanks!

When getting SMS games keep in mind that some of them require SMS controllers like Wonderboy in Monster Land.

The SMS version of California Games is better than the Megadrive version. Also, Rastan is a great conversion.

Are the SMS controllers compatible with the Genesis / MD?

Yeah. Only a few games require them though. Among them are Wonderboy in Monster Land and Bomber Raid

You have great taste in games, my friend. I was actually about to underline all the good games, but I ended up underlining them all.

I picked up a Master System a few months back. Here are a few of the games that I like to play, out of the 30 or so that I have:
Shinobi
After Burner
Space Harrier
Wonder Boy
Penguin Land
Global Defense
Fantasy Zone II
You should try and grab a set of 3D Glasses, as well. They're pretty much an expensive novelty but the 3D technology works quite well for a 20+ year old product.

I've never seen a real confirmation on here or anywhere yet that if the Power Base Converter will work with the CDX/MultiMega and can you use the 3D Glasses with it, or will the 3D Glassses only work with original Master System?! And will the 3D Glasses work with a LCD TV? Lots of questions!

3D Glasses work on a Power Base Converter.
3D glasses have nothing to do with LCD or anything like that, as the game itself puts out the 3D graphics and the 3D glasses are plugged into the Power Base Converter.
It won't work with the CDX, as the add-on is shaped specifically for the Model 1 Genesis.
As for game recommendations:
Space Harrier 3D
Sonic 1
Sonic 2
Sonic Chaos
Golden Axe Warrior
Castle of Illusion
Jason Buster Douglas Boxing (Known as something else in PAL, but I forget what)
Land of Illusion
Lucky Dime Caper
Deep Duck Trouble

I use to have 3D glasses just like those for my PC, and it had to hookup directly between the PC and the Monitor. Because the Refresh Rate was how it synced with the left and right lens.... So I would think that it might not work well with the LCD....
I wanna get a power converter and luckily I have a CDX and a Gen Model 1... So I'll just dedicate the 32x for the CDX and the Power Base with the Model 1 Genny.. .Sounds good....

The PBC fits on the CDX much better than it fits on the "Model 2". It just pushes on the CDX's power plug in the back

The plastic that hangs down you can even cut off, it's just plastic. Then it won't even push on the power cord.
I've heard both that the 3D glasses work with LCD, and they don't work with LCD. I don't have 3D glasses so I really don't know.

Get a set of the 3D glasses and try out Maze Hunter 3D, Missle Defense 3D and Zaxxon 3D. The 3D effects really work quite well and make these games entirely unique from anything else you are likely to have. If you buy the glasses, make sure to get the portion of the set up that plugs into the card slot on the SMS/PBC or the glasses will be totally useless by themselves. Overall, it's best to look for a set of glasses that are complete in the box because this way you'll get all the parts and a boxed set are likely to have been cared for and still be in good cosmetic and working condition.

I'll also recommend Rastan. I got it when it came out & it's aged rather well. It's one of the few SMS games I still play. Great music, (my favorite 8 bit music) & they did a great job porting this to the system.
Someone mentioned California games. Man did I love that game for the SMS back in the Summer of 89. Played it to death back then.
I haven't played it in 20 years though, not sure how its stood the test of time.
*Not sure if you have Taito Legends for the PS2, but the arcade version of Rastan is on it.
