Check this out! (http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=16314)

IIRC, dude with the blue saber impressed LucasFilm execs enough to be flown out there for an interview and be subsequently hired by them.

Great stuff!

Homemade lightsaber battles are easy. Even complete retards like me can do them. Check it out:

Joe's Light Saber Battle (http://pixelcraze.film-tech.net/crap/redifer_saber.mov) 10.7MB Quicktime file.

We did this a few years back just for fun. The way I did it was to import each and every frame one at a time into Photoshop and draw the sabers and effects on top of the video. Later I reassembled the 1800 or so frames back into a video file and then mixed the Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound (you hear a stereo mixdown in the Quicktime file). They make filters in After Effects for this now so they can look even better/more polished.

A lot of people's lightsaber battles have Star Wars music, characters and scenarios in them. Bah! We weren't trying to imitate Star Wars, we were just trying to mimick the effect for fun. By the way, I'm the guy with the blue saber.

Lol, you got owned!

That rocked. If I knew how to do that, I'd probably just film myself running through town and hacking away at startled bystanders.

Hahaha... Joe, that video was pretty much awesome. I am greatly entertained.

Great videos. There are other just as funny videos in the same style, called "Star Wars Kid". Look for them on DC or something, they are hilarious.
