RESQ -- released or not?

Yup, it's another one of those questions, that's hard to answer. I have a rom for this game, and it's pretty damn fun. But was it released? Europe perhaps? I read somewhere it wasn't, but I just want to double check.

It was released, but only in Europe. I'm not sure why the US release got canned.

It's a pretty neat game.

I've never seen The Itchy And Scratchy Game, either. There's a ROM dump floating around, but no box, cart or manual scans. Nobody knows whether it was even released in finished form.
