    I know it's a unpopular view to have but I compare it to use low res sprites over high res backgrounds. PCM sfx and FM sfx will not have the "resolution" either, let's say.

    Awesome!!!
    I'm NOT a fan of PCM usage in Mega Drive games. Be it for music or sfx. I think they should have been used only for voice clips and stuff like a thunderstruck sound.
    So what you said sounds lovely to me.
