Hah, no, I have three Texas bank accounts and nobody has offered me a gun. If they had I would own one. Actually, I saw a hand gun at a pawn shop for $50 the other day and almost picked it up. I'd rather have a good rifle though so I can at least hunt with it if I ever get the chance.

I moved here when I was three, so it was less of a shock. As I grew older I became more and more annoyed with the insane heat. One summer, 1998 I think, I was delivering pizza without Air Conditioning in my car and felt true panic for the first time as I was sitting for what seemed like forever at stop lights. My wife moved here that summer as well and thought this kind of heat was normal, but we have only had about two summers like it since then. ~115-120 Fahrenheit is not_fun.

As a kid my impression of vacations to beaches and whatnot was also ruined by second degree sunburns. I am told now that I must be a solar recluse to avoid melanoma. It's a good thing I am already a recluse.

I'm not kidding, but remember I'm from Missouri. I love a good rain storm with sideways rain, I just haven't had to clean up after one just yet.

Texas hasn't been hit by a good hurricane too recently, not like Louisiana was. I don't think massive property damage, or loss of life, is fun or funny. In our case, I think we have become just arrogant enough that it might be appropriate though.

You kidding? We get "weather" so rarely around here that I look forward to a good tornado. Granted, I wouldn't want anybody's house destroyed, but a little crazy weather is a nice break from the monotony of general hell-heat and no rain.
