Wiz 'n Liz?
It's not just Alex who can lose his/her clothes in the JP Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle. The oppoents end up the same way when they lose. One stage has a female character covering up herself with...
Atarisoft made some solid ports to the Colecovision and Intellivision too. The Intellivison versions of Pac-Man, Centipede, and Defender are good stuff. Colecovision Centipede is awesome too....
I found the effect on the moose stage of Mickey Mania Genesis to be especially impressive.
There was also a second version of Pebble Beach for Super Famicom using the SA1 chip that didn't make it to the US.
I like the 6 switch Sears Telegames.
I know this is an old thread, but, I think the arcade one exists because it didn't fall under the exclusivity agreements for the console versions. I know for sure that another SEGA arcade game based...
In other words, infinite continues, not infinite lives.
It's my list, as well.
It's not quite the same, but at least you can play the SMS version on Genesis with a PBC. Not as good as some other versions, but still very good, especially for the hardware.
Thunder Force IV/Lightening Force
Fire Shark
MUSHA
I finally got my hands on a cart. I played it a long time ago and remembered liking it. So far, it's every bit as good as I remembered.
oh yeah. That Beauty and the Best Belle's Quest game has to be one of the worst games on the Genesis, as well. That game sucks.
From what I have played:
Arcade Classics
Barney
Fantasia
I'm surprised Arcade Classics wasn't mentioned. Not only didn't that they try to port the arcade versions, but they also got the...
or modded US Genesis owner. :)
Lotus II
Outrun
Super Monaco GP
Virtua Racing
Road Rash series
Roadblasters
Super Hang-On
The screens remind me a bit of Rambo III for SMS, which was also an Operation Wolf style game.
No mention of Lost Vikings? Not only does it use the 6 button controller, but it actually uses the mode button during gameplay, as well.
Since RPGs are text heavy, most of them don't have an alternate version on the cart. To play them in English you will need the US versions. :(
Factor 5 lost the rights to Turrican even before closing, though. I think there was a dispute with Manfred Trenz, the original creator of Turrican, over the rights for awhile. I remember hearing that...
wow. If I didn't know better, I would think this was talking about Batman: Revenge of the Joker, only that game came out for NES as Return of the Joker and actually looks and sounds much better on...
My holy grails:
Modded Genesis HDG Model 1 with widened cart slot and JP/EN switch
Complete JP Alien Soldier
Power Base Converter
yup. Exactly like that.
I checked my Super Off Road to see if I had them. It came with a whole set connected together and a card for Arcade Blockbusters promoting Double Dragon and Super Off Road.
