My guess is they called the game "Sonic the Hedgehog CD". Since CD is bigger like Sonic, every body called it Sonic CD instead. After all "Sonic CD: The Hedgehog" just doesn't sound right.

You could try WRAPPING a wire around the fuse to see if it's the problem. You've had it apart, but do you know where the fuse is? If that's the problem you can get a new fuse pretty inexpensively.
