That's pretty cool. So you have the newest model 2, and I have the oldest US model 1! I'd like to see mine beat though. Where is number 1 I wonder? Also that's a lot of numbers between our two Oct....

It's blurred out, but the last one's Serial number is T30181924.
That's all...for now...
No problem! Glad to be of help!
Here are the Model 2 systems...I think. I'm kinda' tired right now so if there are duplicates you'll have to forgive me. This will be a two poster.

Sorry about the triple post. If I could put more than five photographs in one post I wouldn't do it. Here are the rest of the Model one systems. Model two's will come later.

Sorry for the double post but I seem to have a five photo limit. Here are my Sega CDX systems.

All are US systems.
My guess is they called the game "Sonic the Hedgehog CD". Since CD is bigger like Sonic, every body called it Sonic CD instead. After all "Sonic CD: The Hedgehog" just doesn't sound right.
You don't need stereo cable to get sound. Although I've read about one repro cable for a Model one requires it. The originals, and repros for a model 2 don't.
The way I find cheap systems is to set myself a limit, and then check eBay often for BIN auctions within my limit. That how I've purchased many cheaper systems. My best recent deal was a Saturn, with...
The newest/last Game-shark disc negates the need for a mod chip on these. Just tape the lid switch down, and swap the disc when it's time. It works on every model from launch to the last PSone.
Saturn sports games on eBay.
There's a Worldwide Soccer game listed with no cracks in the case on there now for about $2 BIN with $3.50 shipping
That motor probably keeps spinning because either the contact switch is damaged or it's not making contact. Check underneath the spindle, and you should see a clear plastic piece with two strips of...
Well, I wouldn't go that far, but your welcome none the less!
Yep, that's the one that came with my system.
If you can, post a pic of your system with the lid open. I should be able to tell you which one you will need.
Do you have a real CDX adapter?
The one on the left.

If you don't, and are using a regular Sega CD adapter you are under-powering the...
You could try WRAPPING a wire around the fuse to see if it's the problem. You've had it apart, but do you know where the fuse is? If that's the problem you can get a new fuse pretty inexpensively.
The laser on these are easy to replace compared to a model 1. Could you post a pic of it with the lid open? According to which one you have a new laser can run from $14 to $30 dollars. I've tried...

Especially when it's plugged in! :p
Out of the seven I acquired over he past couple of years. Three worked flawlessly, and four had to be fixed. My experience probably doesn't match actual failure rates. I purposefully buy As/is broken...
I use a Japanese Mega-cart in my X'eye. No problems at all.
DRM on the PC is stupid. Games are often cracked before they are released. That's why I said it was one of the reasons most games aren't developed solely for PC anymore. Steam is probably the best...
I agree that good games sell regardless, but nothing is easier to pirate now than a Sega CD game. Back when it came out, cd copiers were very expensive. Now they are everywhere, not to mention the...
