I'm surprised no one mentioned Metal Slug Anthology yet, I own it for the Wii and it's definitely a buy if you're getting a PS2.

This link showed up on Racketboy in the last couple of days; I thought it may help you out with your project.

I was intruiged by your reply about taking old Genesis cases and converting them into 32X cases, I...
Sounds like a cool project, and I can't wait to see the results. If you are successful you should post a FAQ on how others can build the "faux Neptune".
I've noticed that the second hand store I live closest to still has a decent selection of Genesis games. Recently they hauled out a ton of stuff from the back room and put it up on display, so now...
Ok, if the Saturn's like an energy drink then does that mean that it's a blast until you crash a few hours later or until you play a PSX again? Maybe that's not the best example I should use.
Meh, Sonic '06 was a huge black eye for the franchise, but I think Sonic is doing fine in 2007 considering that. Secret Rings isn't the best, but I enjoyed it and the new Sonic Rush game looks pretty...
Doom II actually added new elements to the original Doom engine, new enemies, large open maps, and the Super Shotgun; it took everything cool about the original game and made it better, the maps were...
Honestly, I hate Final Doom; I would've much preferred to see a Doom II port tackled on the 32x.
I played this and the sequel (which wasn't on the Genesis/32x) for the SNES, I really liked the gameplay and co-op puzzle thing. I think the Genesis version can support 3 players unlike the SNES...
It's called The Cove and it's at the University of Saskatchewan here in Saskatoon. The arcade part is usually overshadowed by the LAN center in the place, but right when you enter it off to the left...
There's one at the University I'm headed to next semester. I went there a few weeks ago and it's basically dead in the summer (since there are few students taking classes). It had a nice selection of...
I never liked the PSX controllers (or any of the Sony pads); 3D games it works okay, but when you play a 2D game with a PSX controller it can be a downright pain in the ass. The D-pad, in my opinion...
The best way the Saturn will spark some kind of magical enjoyment for you will probably be the arcade ports. Daytona USA's not as graphically appealing as Ridge Racer, but it's still a very enjoyable...
Well, I'll dust off an old South Park line to sum up the person who paid that much for the 32x.
Person in Crowd (talking to Bush): "Are you high, or just incredibly stupid?!"
Bush (to crowd): "I...
I do enjoy the Simpsons, but this game was soooooo LAME! It was like a dumbed down version of other platforming, puzzle-solving games, minus the fun and more difficult. I'll stick with the Lost...
I voted Saturn since it had better turnouts with my favourite genres; Fighters, FPS were done well and there were some good platformers on the console. I didn't find as many of those that I liked on...
I got lots of stuff this past week
3 Saturn games and an official Saturn Arcade Racer: $20
Games:
Sonic 3D Blast (Complete, the lid of the case is missing a hinge)
Daytona USA (Complete)...
The music on the SNES Doom sounded much better than the 32x, but again SNES is also missing nearly all of the animation frames for the monsters (like 32x), and man does that port run slowly.
Great article, I really like these console comparisons between games. Next you should do one on the Saturn and 32x versions of Mortal Kombat II.
True, but if Sega had the money (or intention) of using the DVD format, the homebrew/import scene would not be what we have today; it was stupid of Sega to use the GD-rom format on Dreamcast, but at...
It really looks like the Dreamcast part of this thread has been all but consumed by the Saturn. I loved the Dreamcast as a whole, it has a small, but very solid game library, great arcade ports, some...
If you're using a US 32x on a Jpn. Mega Drive, and it does play the US version of Chaotix; then would it not play if it did ignore the 32x region and read the Mega Drive? The 32x must have some kind...
Contra HC definitely, in fact this is one my only Genesis games I own that's still complete. Contra III was good, but the SNES was not built as well for shmup's as the Genesis was.
So did I; NIGHTS is just running away with it, not surprised though. I would like to see SoR comeback as well, but that's for another day; Beats of Rage and the original games work fine for now.
