Maybe I'm weird but I think this game gets worse every time they improve the graphics. I even preferred the Genesis version to the Sega CD.

I'm a big fan of my Weller. Mine's a model older than this one: http://www.toolking.com/weller-wes51-analog-soldering-station
Plenty of interchangeable tips and spare parts available, and it works...
Actually, I found that it ran *slower* in NTSC, compared to footage I've seen of it running in PAL mode. If I remember right, the system uses all that extra time when it's not drawing to the screen...
... and through this whole thread, no one's mentioned that even once the rom has been hacked to run in NTSC, it runs like crap because it's optimized for 50Hz.
Terrible, terrible product.
Oooo, I hadn't heard of State of Mind. A quick browse through Beatport tells me they're right up my alley. This'll be expensive.
I went and looked at some Youtube footage and I can honestly tell you that 1993 me would've loved that game. Sure, it's lame now, but in 1993, that whole high-speed, pseudo-polygon, rotating screen...
Cool, thanks for the feedback. I'll pass it along. Chances are, he's just going to ask me to throw it up on eBay or something. If that happens, I'll give you guys the first crack at it.
A friend of mine runs a used game store here and a guy traded in (among other things), a Japanese region Mega Drive (HAA-2510). He wasn't sure what to do with it so I brought it home to check it out....
1st: If it's all RCA jacks, the worst that will happen is you'll hear nothing. Or some squealing if there's a feedback loop. But you won't break anything.
2nd: Anything with RCAs is line level....
Looks promising. I'll try the demo. It would be cool to go through and do all the time trial challenges / unlocks again. I'd even buy the US soundtrack as DLC if it's offered.
If they get it right...
I have enough jacks and it's not much more effort. I'll probably just go ahead and hook up dual mono. It's easier to find an AV cable with yellow / white / red than just yellow / white anyway.
Thanks for the quick rundown on VR! Are there any downsides to that? Will it break any other games that you know of?
I'll be ok without the SMS compatibility. It was more a curiosity than...
Bump. Anyone? This has to have been figured out but my search skills are failing me. I can't find anything solid for VA2 mods besides the Game Genie one.
Some would argue they don't even have that. Given a sufficiently large cartridge, FMV was totally possible on the Neo (if incredibly wasteful). See Real Bout 2 and Blazing Star.
Edit: And now I'm...
I got something for her to eat.
What Clessy said.
Also, you obviously have no concept of how powerful the Neo is relative to the SNES with any of its coprocessors. While the Neo couldn't have done any 3D, it still would've wiped...
I gave a Genesis 3 to my gf's kids and unfortunately, the only AV cable I could find for it disintegrated within a couple of weeks. I intend to mod it with standard AV jacks to solve that problem.
...
Cheaper, but not by much. $500 vs. $650. Honestly, if I was spending that much money on a CMVS, I'd go for the wood.
Thing is ... $650 is about what you could spend on a nice cabinet, which is...
Honestly, I'm surprised one of the knockoff companies hasn't made a GG clone that plugs into a TV.
That also would've been crap.
That's pretty much the exact opposite of my story. I found Double Switch far easier to figure out so I enjoyed it much more.
Yes. And a year before that, and another year before that. I was sure this was a necropost.
I think there was a full-featured Amiga or CD32 release that had all the music / voice without the load times but haven't had any luck finding it and setting up the right emulator.
What, like their Media Go program? It does just fine for me and has been available for ages.
I don't know of any but would be interested to hear if anyone does. The only one I knew of was Game Trader but I think they closed.
