Yeah I already got that notion. I was asking why there needs to be RAM on top the already existing ROM chips. Thats what was stated, unless the others are saying the 68k needs beyond 64k of RAM...

So how much SRAM would be required for purpose? You would still need your regular graphics ROM for storage right? I'm somewhat confused about why extra RAM chips are needed within the cartridge...

So this RAM would be in place of the GFX ROM within the cart, or an addition to the GFX and instruction ROM? Also, what kind of RAM chip would it function best with?

It's awesome that its 'possible', but I'm thinking, is it 'practical' in terms of costs? It'd be awesome to get Homebrew Starfox like 3D shooters or say a Hard Drivin' derivative game on the Neo Geo...

Oh yeah, I completely forgotten that the Neo Geo uses two different ROM chips for graphics and the other for code which only the respective chips in the console has access to. I did read it somewhere...

Huh? The FMV sequence doesn't use the Ricoh's audio channels. Playback the CD on a Hi-Fi, you will find the same soundtrack on there that is used on the FMV sequence. It's Redbook Audio.

Considering the CD Drive in the Mega CD is critically slow (1x!!), playing back redbook audio would rule out the streamed pre-rendered 3D backgrounds completely. Can't do both at the same time...

While it is technically more powerful than the PS1, in reality, it really is a crippled system with severe bottlenecks that shouldn't really exist.

I played DS games. And the texture quality in it's games exceeds that of the PS1 AND N64 despite it lacking any texture filtering ala PS1 & Saturn, with the 64 being the worst in texture resolution....
