Sonic 1. I seriously expected some boring Mario clone and avoided the title for a while.
Shinobi III: Not too much of a fan of Revenge of Shinobi and previews made it look like it was similar. It...
Yeah, the Japanese version was released a few months after the one in Europe/America so it had a few extra effects (extra parallax scrolling in Marble and Spring Yard zone, for example).
Castle of Illusion. A really great, well-made, imaginative platformer. Graphics look nice and the music is lovely. Controls are a bit floaty, but you get used to it. It was the flagship game Sega...
Personally, I think Sonic 1 stood the test of time and is therefore a classic.
I like all the levels (some more than others), most of the music and graphics. Enemy design is best in the entire...
The play mechanics are definitely there. But the levels in Sonic 3 are quite different from the previous Sonic titles.
But there was also a Sonic 3 commercial about GroundHog Day. Only seen it once on TV. Never seen it again. Not even on the Internet.
Here's another one for you Bare Knuckle 3 fans. Keep in mind, it's a bit more "in your face". ;)
Did another one about Streets of Rage:

I'm a bit confused after reading this thread. Is it about official art? General fan-art? Or just your fan-art?
If we keep it to plain fan-art you've done (about the 16-bit era), well, I did a...
Is that Falcon? The balloon kid?
Starlight zone is pulling ahead!
Most people are familiar with the Green Hill zone because it is the first zone, but to me, the Starlight zone is basically Sonic at his best. Speed, level layout, music, graphics, everything clicks....
I always thought the Hidden Palace zone in Sonic 2 had some of the best graphics in the game. They should have focused on that zone and leave Hill Top zone out of the game (which is in many ways just...
Remember, music is the weapon.
If you keep Tails around than you simply jump and move left to right a bit earlier than you would alone and that's how you clear the special stages.
Pretty much.
Sonic 3 is the better part, S & K are the left-overs.
lol
I originally captured 3 of those 7 commercials in the 90's (was part of the Megacosm site).
Full circle.
I'm the only FEKA goon. Accept no substitute.
20 years already.
As for you euro Mega Drive fans, wait another year before celebrating since you got the system a year later. :p

Oh my, out of 15+ pages, some people actualy agreed with you. Hold the presses! Should I quote the majority who disagreed in response?
Why make a topic about SOR2 being overrated if not that most...
The slow combos is something I already admitted I didn't care much about. I can go and play SOR3 and then go back to SOR2 and it makes no difference to me.
Running and rolling, though, makes a big...
Oh really?
Look who's getting huffy. The guy who started this thread can't take a rebuttal.
Yes, SOR1 beats its own ass. :p
