They exist. I don't collect international units, but they most likely exist, their rare. You can ask Ace or Tiido (TmEE) on this. Depends, PAL is a TV standard, not a region. Be helpful if you're...
Some PAL countries released the Mega Drive later than others. Some countries I think didn't even get the model 1 Mega CD. Unlike the model 2 Mega Drive which almost was released everywhere at the...
That's not going to do anything but waste your time. Sorry to be blunt, but try a 32X or use something other than composite like RGB. Caps are not the problem there, it's the chip and circuitary...
Rainbow artifacting? Well that's probally a problem inside the Genesis, then, not the cable. You can use an external encoder or try the 32X attachment. If your TV supports RGB/scart which is not...
I've noticed this a long time ago with American Genesises. There might of been different reasons for it, but those could be lost to time itself and why that is.
Results may vary. It could depend on the TV you're using. RF has the lowest quality signel. It could also be the fact that your A/V cables are bad or you have one of the 3/4 motherboard versions...
The audio rate of the sound system. Which is more stable than trying to match the monitor refresh rate. The only reason that alternate timing is there, is that you have shitty audio hardware or...
Real hardware runs video output 59.94 Hz in NTSC regions, monitors and modern devices have an output of 60Hz Be nice tearing going on, if the v-sync doesn't work, but it can break things if a game...
Runs between 20 FPS and 30 FPS for me. My system is crap. But no one listens to me (I've been pushing for system upgrades for a long time and its not happening). So why bother. I'm very impressed...
Looks like you found the bugger.
Did you lift the chrome pin on the RGB encoder? (WARNING: You'll get black & white in composite and RF connections). Or whatever pin. Some Genesis have noise introduced into the RGB signel from...
Hope it goes well. :)
Recommendations, check all traces to the Z80 and related stuff, maybe reflow solder on the pins of those chips. Recap might help if this doesn't solve the problem.
Now that I think about it, this could be the real issue. Most games do use the Z80 for sound. Makes sense.
Never came across it before, but a little process of elimation could help you pin point the source of the problem.
Recap? You could have a failing YM2612 but you need to rule out the cap problem first. I try a recap first. If that doesn't help I think you could a problem with the YM2612.
I know it's suppose to get to warm. But if it's too hot like that, it maybe a lack of ventalation or something else going on.
Did you try custom opensource firmware? Many devices can be jailbroken.
Most TVs aren't much these days. I be hooking up my audio to stereo / suuround system or even getting a computer speaker set, because LCD TVs actually have shitty speakers. That older CRT you used...
I was thinking more like a contrast enhancement was on actually. I know AGC is not enhancement. Just wanted to clear this up.
Did you try pluging the Genesis into a different port on the A/V selector? Maybe the TV or A/V selector has some sort of auto-gain issue with is the Genesis's output causing it to brighten...
If you know what to do in Half-Life, the source version makes it more difficult though and that boss is more scary looking in the source version... In the goldsource engine versions it is...
If you guys don't look like somebody ignore them and not tear into them because you can. Just be respectful of fellow members. I'm not a mod or admin, but seriousily if someone wants to be an idiot...
Early Model 1s, Later Model 2s... In terms of quality of stock audio/video design.
In shell design. The model 2 looks sleeker in America by itself. The Model 1 looks great with a SEGA CD model...
