Not my setup. I wish it was.
Would this help with extra layers?

I would pay for that. RPGs are much better with emulation, can play on my laptop anywhere and save via savestate at any time. If not emulation they could release an HD version for PC.
So anytime you buy low and sell high, that's gouging? Why do you even care what some buyer paid for it, it wasn't your money.
No conflict here.
Keeping a copy of something I legally own is not piracy. I bought Sonic 2 twenty years ago, still have it, recently I downloaded the ROM to try out a few hacks. Is that illegal? I...
You have to understand, at the time Pier Solar had been delayed again and again and no one knew if it was going to be a good game. I pre-ordered three copies as a way to help out WM and support...
This is great news, was finally able to try out Pier Solar for the first time.
It has a lot of dialogue in the beginning but maybe tomorrow I will get further, would be nice if I could skip ahead...
That might have been OK if the Mega Duo were backward compatible while also offering a significant upgrade. For example, it could have 2x 12.5Mhz 68000s, 1MB of RAM, and a 2nd VDP to increase...
Activator is necessary to compete with the Kinect. I have another add-on in the works for the Activator to correct the problems you mentioned, but cannot reveal it here because of an active NDA.
Only other option would be an FPGA. This has already been done for MD so you only have to create the 32X part yourself. Then there is the issue of finding an FPGA small enough to fit into a handheld...
I can do that with your Nomad if you want to send it in. Just need to solder a few connectors on the cart slot, then a few more wires to get the 32X video output to the LCD (you might also want to...
Too late!
I will be starting production just as soon as I can make a down payment on that 24-core Opteron board.
I am building an interface to connect the 32X cartslot to USB via a RAM cart. The idea is for the MD homebrew to finally be competitive with the PS3, Wii, and with the Activator, the XBOX 360 Kinect....
The board dimensions may be an issue but I think I can fit both the x86 components and the Genesis/32X in this case along with a RAID array:...
But if I don't use filtering then the Super 64X will be limited to Genesis resolution.
Also with that Tyan board I could use 2 video capture cards so I could put 64X content between the Genesis/32X...
Problem with hardware overlays is that I don't have any way in hardware to upscale/filter the image (either through interpolation or hq2x) plus I am looking to output VGA or HDMI.
Do you guys think...
I guess that explains why the video never looked quite right, that is too bad I was hoping for an extra 4-5 layers of parallax =/
At least I can still mix the audio from the headphone jack to the...
MD/32X adds the controllers and several background layers, especially when upsampled to 640*480 using software interpolation. (This also means that the 64X will be able to enhance all existing MD/32X...
For the 64X I have chosen to use non-proprietary parts to keep costs and development time down.
At the moment the software (Ubuntu 11) runs entirely on the x86 side but as soon as I have built a...
Hate to break it to you guys but I have been working on this for months and already have a working prototype:

There have been a few...
It had lots of memory compared to other systems but still not enough to handle AES games (try playing a few rounds of Last Blade 2 and see what I mean).
It was a $300 system that did nothing but...
No it was like 4 years later, or 6 for the CDZ. It was a 16-bit system with a 1X CD-ROM released at the same time and price of the PSX and Saturn, and the lack of RAM made it even worse than the AES.
And that was exactly the problem. It would have been like Nintendo releasing the Gamecube as the N64CD in 2001, with no upgraded hardware and games that cost as much as those for the DC, PS2, and...
Considering SNK's previous home console cost more than $1000 in today's money, it's surprising they didn't add anything to the Neo CD other than RAM. If they'd added a 32-bit processor, upgraded the...
How about MPC, or even MP2 or MP1? Quality would be worse but all of these formats decode faster than Vorbis, at least on a PC.
